DeMarcus Ware, DE, Dallas Cowboys

Once one of the game's most fearsome pass rushers, Ware's production has slipped as injuries have taken their toll. Ware posed a career-low six sacks and completely disappeared down the stretch during another December flop in Dallas.

The Cowboys are still a better defense with Ware on the edge, but a team edging into salary-cap hell might find it hard to hold on to an aging pass rusher due $12.25 million next season. Ware is not open to a pay cut, but would restructure his current deal, which has two years and $26 million remaining.

Chance he's cut loose: 50 percent

He said it and then retracted or restated himself within about an hour.

Its in the best interest of dallas to cut him but they will keep him guaranteed.

Sadly, I agree. I fear his name carries so much weight still that it may sound unthinkable to them to let him go. Even though the savings would be massive and could possibly help the team out tremendously.

I don't understand all this salary cap stuff but I would think the Cowboys offer wouldn't be that much lower than if he was on the open market.
Is there a team that is going to offer him some huge contract based on his looming injury issues?

If true- very sad.
How much money does someone need to make to be happy?

What about the rest of humanity that doesn't sniff what a guy like him makes?
Does he donate a vast portion of his income to help others in need and he wants to keep that up?
If he does- admirable and I take back my feelings.

If it's to maintain his luxurious lifestyle in this day and age of rampant poverty and the death of the middle class- those who help make his paychecks happen...
Sad.

Is there a way to restructure his deal to make it light on the cap?

If true, it's unfortunate. Ware's always been one of my favorites. But, you have to cut him. Jerry probably won't, but it'd be the smart business decision. Way too much money invested for that level of production.

Defenses with Ware havent won championships so out the door he goes. Should've been done 2 years ago

I think it's more fair to say that the D was horrible with him or without him. One guy isn't going to win a Championship.
