If your not going to make the playoffs you might as well suck bad enough to get the draft pick to replace him. I say cut him now start getting the salary cap back in order to do it the right way.

It's all about sack numbers.

That's what many think... unfortunately.

Now that doesn't mean I don't think Ware doesn't need to have his salary cut one way or the other the next two seasons.

What a waste of an amazing parcells draft pick.

He's going out so unceremoniously. Which is surprising but it's not hurting like I thought it would

If true- very sad.
How much money does someone need to make to be happy?

What about the rest of humanity that doesn't sniff what a guy like him makes?
Does he donate a vast portion of his income to help others in need and he wants to keep that up?
If he does- admirable and I take back my feelings.

If it's to maintain his luxurious lifestyle in this day and age of rampant poverty and the death of the middle class- those who help make his paychecks happen...
Sad.

A billionaire was asked, 'How much money is enough?' He replied, 'Regardless of how much you have, you always want a million more.' It seems that the more somebody has the more they want. The response seems to be from athletes is always that they want respect. You can't buy respect, you earn it on the field. Ware has earned respect on the field and he has more money than he can spend. The question is why not allow other young players to get an opportunity to develop? His over the top salary, etc for 2014 prevents the Cowboys from signing players they need and also give other young players an opportunity as well.

Ware is not the only culprit in this situation. He is merely demanding they fulfill their contract. The real culprits are those that wrote the contracts for him to sign. There are no good guys/ bad guys in this situation. You have 'bad guys' on both sides or more accurate 'dumb guy/selfish guy.'

Why would anybody turn down 7 or 8 million dollars a year when you are already a multi, multi millionaire? It isn't about money or respect. It is all about ego.

Love him as a player, seems to be a very nice person as well...... he may have a resurgent as a part time player..... but for the money he is making, it's time to move on.

Better to do it why our defense is rebuilding. We need a new identity.... one that is mean and nasty... not nice.

No, it was parcells . He ran the show. It was his 3-4 defense. He compared LT to ware. And since he's been gone we haven't found a player like ware

It's already been well documented that Parcells wanted Merriman AND Spears over Ware. The scouts and Jerry made the call on Ware over both, while Parcells pouted. Broaddas has told the story a million times.

Unfortunately, DeMarcus has had so many physical issues over the last few years that the chances for him to escape that history unscathed seems minimal at best. He'ss had hip, back, shoulder, neck and elbow issues to be specific. What are the chances that one, two or more of those won't continue to plague him during yet another season or two? Let's face it, he simply isn't the same physical specimen we've been fortunate enough to have on our side for all this time. Things change and so must our roster.

What way did you hear it, that Parcell's wanted and made the argument for Ware? That's a version I've never heard.

Broaddus was in the room, and he's told the story many, many times. It was his last draft with the Cowboys.

The thing I remember most about those meetings was how much Bill was in love with Spears. It was not that the scouts didn't like Spears, we just didn't understand why Bill was pushing for him so hard at 11 and not 20? Parcells knew he was losing the battle on Spears at 11, so he turned his attention to DeMarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman for that spot. The scouts were totally on board with Ware at 11, but Bill made a nice push to take Merriman in that spot instead.

So is there any update on the odds of his stay or departure?

Parcells said he liked him and did compared him to LT. I didn't read broddus article ....so I can't call it.
I'm not not debating.. It may very well have been the other way,

I would love to see ware stay here with a paycut and be a situational player. I love dware just not full time and definately not at that salary.

I'm not saying Parcells didn't like him, I'm just letting you know he liked Spears and Merriman more. Just like the scouts liked Spears, just not at 11. It's not like Parcells only liked the players that turned out badly, but he certainly had a thing for Spears.
