NFL.com - DeMarcus Ware not open to paycut, 50% chance he's cut

No he didn't. He thought merriman was a jerk.

If you bring parcells in he gets his way. Or he'll Quit.

Parcells wanted Merriman, but Jerry overruled him.

Parcells' comment on Ware was during training camp (after the draft).

Demarcus Ware has been one of the all time Cowboy greats. It's unfortunate it appears that the 2 sides can't agree on a payout. The cowboys can not keep Ware at his current cap number. Doing so would arguably be the worst football decision Jerry has made to date.

We're under the cap now. So, it's not impossible.

Ah, gotta love this stuff. With Romo its, he cant do it in do or die games. Or win or go home games. Or games that matter most. Or elimination games. Blah, blah, blah. And with Ware its, he doesnt do it in the parts of games that matter most. Or when it really counts. Or crunch time. Blah, blah, blah.

Ware could have 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 tipped passes, 10 QB pressures, 14 tackles, stuff 4 runs for a loss, 12 QB knock downs, and an INT, but if he doesnt get a sack in the last 2:00 mins of the game he doesnt come thru when it counts. Not that any thing he would have done in the first 58:00 mins of the game did anything to help put the team in a position to win, its just the last 2:00 that are meaningful. Yep, the Twilight Zone never disappoints with the stellar insight.

This thread is not about Romo, its about Ware...................and he doesn't put up anything close to the stats you are listing.............hence, why the hell do you think the team is wanting him to take a pay cut?

Bottom line is Ware is not anywhere near being worth $12 million a season and both Ware and the Cowboys know it................that's why he is either going to accept pay cut or be released.

What player does put up those stats in a game? Its why I said he COULD . . . . . . . . . . and then said what the response would be from some of the Twilight Zoners.

It was an example. But you knew that. The mention of Romo was also an example. But you knew that. What I said was true. But you knew that.

I'd give Ware one more year to see if he bounces back or if he's truly on his last legs. Besides, at this rate, it's unlikely Spencer comes back. No way we pay him after micro-fracture surgery. We'll need at least one productive DE on the line, jury is still out to see if Selvie can continue to play like he did last year.

and the jury is out on Ware. except his salary weighs down the team so that it is forced to depend on him making the plays. No thanks.

It's already been well documented that Parcells wanted Merriman AND Spears over Ware. The scouts and Jerry made the call on Ware over both, while Parcells pouted. Broaddas has told the story a million times.

count 1 for the count.

My memory isn't the best so I could be wrong. I think we had the 11th and 20th pick in the first round and Parcells wanted Spears at 11, but he was overruled and they took Ware. Then Spears was still there at 20 so both players were taken but not in the order Parcells wanted. He didn't think Spears would be there at 20. Is my memory bad? If it is please give me the correct info.

Bryan Broaddus was in the war room that year and that's how he says things went down.

It was reported that Parcells thought that Spears would get drafted before Ware or Merriman. It appears his initial thought was that they should draft Spears first and then target Merriman with the second 1st round pick. Apparently, they convinced him that Ware and Merriman would be drafted before Spears at which point he wanted Merriman over Ware.
