NFL.com: Romo believes in Gus Johnson

Maybe it is just me but I sense a little bit of propaganda with Johnson. He is the body that can play right now and I am sure he has a lot of people rooting for him.

Should be interesting to see how he plays versus the Chargers.

If he runs hard, takes what is given him and can pass protect, he could have a role here.

I do see the irony though. People have blasted Murray for his lack of "speed", yet they embrace a player they have probably never seen play who quite honestly had a very pedestrian 40 at the combine.

I do feel like some of this is forced, that some fans are really grasping at straws and telling themselves to believe that this guy can be 2015's Murray. I hope he impresses, but I'm certainly not getting my hopes up.

My hope is they really have a strong feeling Randle is a quality 300 carry back, and wind up right

What Im afraid of is that they over sold themselves on Randle and the offensive.

Im also not buying the RBBC anymore as the players they had have proven unreliable and they have done nothing in the way of a contingency

Right. Now, I have no problem with RBBC. And it's been posted that 7 or 8 of the past SB winners won with RBBC. Including last years NE pats. Fine. But those teams had a stable of RBs much better then what we have right now.

With this OL RB is not a issue. 1 will emerge and the rest will be whining about not enough touches. That's the biggest problem Garrett will have with this group, and it's a good one.

You keep telling yourself that.

I believe he is 5 ft 10- 215 lb's
If you watch his college tape he looks good all be it against very weak competition
He will get his shot but it's gonna be a tough road to either bump someone off the roster or force a 4th RB onto the roster
But if one of the other guys can't stay healthy, who lnows

I can only imagine what is going through this kid's mind. He has what could possibly be the best run-blocking line in the NFL and he is first man up at this very moment. What an opportunity.

One thing for sure Gus is getting a chance of a life time this Thursday. Coming in right before the start of camp as a UDFA at the bottom of the depth chart and due to injuries will get a chance with 1st unit. How he fairs in this game could become a life changer for him

Yep. It's his one shot. The other RBs will be back next week, and he'll be back to playing in the 4th quarter. Should be great fun to watch.

And Darren McHammy will be ready to roll? No setbacks? Color me cautiously optimistic

Never know, who would have thought a position like QB could be taken over by some UDFA guy out of Eastern Illinois.

I wonder what Fred Jackson's thoughts on the subject are...

True, sometimes it is being in the right place at the right time and taking full advantage of the situation. I don't know how Gus is going to fair Thursday Night but it is big opportunity that guys like him will normally not get.

Who knows? I was just echoing the point that this couldn't be a better situation for Gus. He's came into camp the 5th option at the position, and he's getting the starter's snaps tomorrow for preseason game one. That's about all he could ask for. After this week, though, Randle, Dunbar, and McFadden are going to be back and, no matter what he does THU, those reps will diminish when that happens.

True but then a great showing helps him and puts guys ahead of him on notice that their margin of error just got a lot smaller.

With us losing Murray we need a feel good ending to the story. Lets go Gus!

I'm excited to see this kid. Especially in the staring role behind this online

Awesome. Only thing missing is Blandino skulking out through the door.

Guys people realize he's not really "spending time with the 1s"?

Right?
