I guess DQ can pick DTs when he has different GMs. Washington is quickly becoming an NFC East power again with Dan Snyder gone. Eagles constantly doing great things in the offseason. They just continue to reload. Hard to see our Boys keeping up. At least the NY Giants still stink.
#3 is the Rams, and #5 is the Packers. Hey, why aren't they bogged down by the contracts for their best players, just like our Cowboys? :muttley:

The Eagles did something very under the radar a couple years ago, that's just coming to light now. They had future 1st ballot HOF center Jason Kelce, still 31 or 32, best center in the league...andbtheyused a 2nd rd pick on a center....to groom behind kelce for a couple of years.

Kelce retires last year...the new kid steps in as center this year for first time, and BOOM he was voted to pro bowl, and he looks like he very well may already be the best center in the league.

Would Jerry do that? No...he'd go chasing after RBs or a LB or some flashy move, while Howie roseman just keeps feeding the pipeline along the trenches.... and have now consistently fielded at least a top 5 oLine for the last quarter century, including multiple HOFers.

Meanwhile jerruh does what jerruh does.

Roseman is playing 3D chess.. planning years ahead, while we play tic tac toe.

A+ thread.
4 of 5 top draft haul teams of last year in the NFC and in the Playoffs, the top 2 are in the NFCE, sheesh. By the standards set from these teams, the Cowboys are behind by a year because of a lackluster '24 draft.

Best pick: C - Cooper Beebe (3rd round)
Biggest reach: LT - Guyton (1st round)
Upside: LB - Marist Liufau (3rd round)
Injury effected: DE - Marshawn Kneeland (2nd round)
Overwhelmed: CB - Calen Carson (5th round)
Lack of Opportunity: WR- Flournoy (6th round)
Developmental Redshirt: OG - Nathan Thomas and NT - Justin Rogers (7th round)

Cowboys can't afford to not be active in FA by signing some mid tier FAs, at least, that's what happens when your draft doesn't produce immediate contributors. Also, they can't put pressure on the scouts and incoming rookies ('25) to power this team into the Playoffs again.

Dallas cannot afford to have the same offseason they had in 2024. No matter the head coach or coaching staff.

Any potential HC candidate needs to ask for input in the acquisition of talent via free agency, trade, and the draft. Otherwise they will lose their jobs because Dallas can't compete with the Eagles and Commanders GMs.

Btw, if the Giants land a QB that can really play, then the Cowboys won't be able to say they may not end up in the cellar instead of the Giants.

Washington is overrated right now a power that's what you're calling them they've lost to our backup roster... I like how you can have one decent season, they've done nothing in the playoffs ,yet they haven't gone to a Super Bowl and yet somehow we're rating this team as a powerhouse lmao , no to me they're no better than the New York Giants were a few years back, when they made the playoffs, you know when Daniel Jones won a playoff game wasn't that something? they're a mirage, they got lucky the Cowboys had like 18+ injuries!! they've always had a good defensive line that doesn't make them a new powerhouse their defense has always been actually really really good and really found ways to slow down the Cowboys, but this year they couldn't shut down the Dallas Cowboys back up roster we sent out almost an entire offense that were backups that beat that defense.

The irony in these posts are you wait till the Cowboys have a down year and then give flowers to teams that are thriving only because the Cowboys were severely injured and hamstrung this year literally and figuratively, were taken out early and often by injuries, and yeah all seasons they matter but they haven't mattered much because three years prior the same stuff happens in the offseason and we won 36 games 2 division titles three straight playoff appearances....must have been a DC POWERHOUSE those 3 years..

I find the irony here the Dallas Cowboys were never called a powerhouse just by simply winning the division and beating up on the division with a healthy team and mainly a healthy Prescott from end to end he's 33 and eight against the NFC East it's insane how many games they won against Washington and New York but none of it counted but they also took two division titles from the eagles none of it counted because they didn't do what make a deep playoff run ..
so here we are, is it too early predictions anointing these two teams and before they've done a single thing in the postseason that's where it all will come out in the wash and we will see but in this case I have to laugh at your Washington's becoming a new powerhouse they just got lucky we had a down year... that's why I see it and the same goes for not being competitive against the eagles they saw both our rosters full of backups the first game, we had a few of our starters the second game even less they played two preseason rosters and some other giving credit for regular season wins ,and I call that a joke they're being giving credit for winning an injured NFC East I mean the eagles didn't have to compete against a healthy Cowboys team so they got an easy pass..

When this stuff happens to the Cowboys they don't get any credit for it because it's only what happens in the playoffs that matter, but hey good job though the Cowboys were severely injured including the rookie class anything that's being said is a bunch of nonsense used to pile on to what is now considered another hate Jerry Jones the GM thread because that's what these are all veiled you guys are just trying to say the same thing 75 different ways and we get it they're upset at the way things went we all are but it's not new news and Washington is not a powerhouse until they prove it multiple years..

What the Cowboys have we've done it over the last decade literally Prescott has owned the east he's owned Washington he's pretty much owned pretty much all the teams in the east and yeah he got no credit for it but you're giving credit to these two teams in this instance for this year before the playoffs start is insane

Oh, calm down. You’d complain eating free ice cream, and congrats on taking things out of context.

The OP stated “Washington is quickly becoming an NFC East power again with Dan Snyder gone”, and attached an innocent subjective rookie class ranking from Bucky Brooks, and you decide making this a personal affront to the Dallas Cowboys is the way to go?

It’s YOU who is tossing around the descriptor of powerhouse. How is it wrong to claim the Ex-skins could be becoming an NFC East power? After all, they’ve done the hard part. Snyder’s booted, they’ve found a legit franchise QB, they’ve got money to spend, hell, the recently passed RFK Stadium bill opens the door to the team returning to DC (where the team belongs) which adds MORE excitement to the franchise. By all accounts it’s an organization on the ascension and one that’s pushing its way (like it or not) to a seat a the NFC East big kids table. Perhaps not an NFL power, but an NFC East Power - indeed.

In regard to Bucky’s top 5 list. Ok. Clearly the biggest reason for Washington’s #1 ranking is the play of their Rookie of the Year QB. Anytime you draft your QB for the next 8-10 years you’re going to garner top marks. Perhaps the Cowboys should give it a try.

Now I clearly stated what I wanted to say and that's how I feel about it nothing you say will change that.... Cowboys did have a rookie of the year quarterback matter of fact he was second MVP voting and the second team all pro and LED the league in scoring last year so maybe you ought to understand the difference between an anomaly giving all these flowers to a team that hasn't done nothing in the playoffs yet in a team that has a quarterback that's already been doing that I thought that it didn't count unless you went to the past second round getting to the championship games blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda and here we are go away I always will say what I say and you're not backing me off it it's too soon to be crowning the Washington team just because they found a decent quarterback who by the way couldn't beat the Dallas cowboy backups in game one at home when they were all hyped up to beat us Dan Quinn and all the ex Cowboys by the way isn't that ironic they're playing with our old coach about four to five of our old players I mean yeah that's a powerhouse they basically pillaged the Dallas Cowboys GM who can't do these things according to you no he's been doing them but we were ravaged by injuries I'd like to see Dan Quinn and this team in Washington win without their quarterback in about 17 other injuries across the board that they've had to deal with with the Cowboys let me see if they win then let me see if we call them the house then we have not slipped there is no gap until there is you let me see Prescott play from game one to game 17 with a relatively healthy team and then tell me where Washington is and how everyone's stacking up in the east when they have to play a healthy Cowboys team I said it I said it again,

it's too soon.......

The article was about some teams 2024 drafts. Some teams had better drafts than others. What’s funny is so many people think Roseman is some kind of genius. He isn’t. In fact he is similar to most NFL GMs. Better than some, not as good as others. The frustration here is that compared to Jerry Jones he seems like the smartest GM ever. The best thing Philly and Washington have going for them right now is one of the teams in their division is run by the worst GM in the NFL. And the Giants may have the 2nd worst.

We won't catch up to a team like the Eaqles because they use BOTH the draft and free agency. Asking mcClay to beat out other top teams with only the draft is a tall order. Couple that with a Jerry friendly coach and you have 30 years of mediocrity.

Our last two drafts haven’t been good. We came up with one great player and he can’t stay healthy.

The “healthy” Eagles kicked our butt with a second and third string QB, a Saints LB castoff that never played ILB before, two rookie corners, a rookie replacing Graham, a backup TE, and a Jets castoff at RG that never played RG before.
