Mark Cuban is probably on to something, the league is going to kill itself in it's greed to get more exposure.

I wouldn't watch 4 days. It's hard enough with 3 to watch and balance family life. 4 days is not worth it

If they keep the draft in May he will push the draft right into Sunday Mothers Day. Think about the Moms out there who are gonna go nuts when they're sitting at home while their husbands are watching rd 6 and 7 of the draft. Lol

Most women can't handle not being the center of attention. They would freak.

I wonder what Mike Mayock's opinion of this possibility? His voice is strong for about a day and a half, then it turns to road gravel. Mayock couldn't last for a week. He'll be doing sign language by the end of the third round.

What in the world is Goodell thinking?

By the fourth day no one except the wonks will be viewing it.

Maybe one way is to reverse the process. Rank all the players from worst to best.
Then owners/GMs/coaches pick in reverse order . . . oh, wait, jerra would use up all his picks on the first day. . . Nevermind.

The chat here is the best thing about the draft. I chat every year I am able. One year I got drunk and Woodysgirl threatened to kick me out.

Roger Goodell discusses four-day draft, expanded playoffs ... is it too much?

Shutdown Corner

I like pizza. You probably do too. However, if you gave me pizza every day, there would come a point when I'd start to hate it.

I love NFL football too. I just wonder if commissioner Roger Goodell's desire to never give fans a rest from it is a good thing.

The NFL moved the draft back to May this year, and I don't know about you, but I'm already tiring of hearing how this or that player's work ethic is terrible, and I think by the time the draft comes up on May 8 we'll hear that Teddy Bridgewater clubs seals when he's away from football. Hopefully this guy "Anonymous Source" has a good phone charger because he's been talking non-stop trash on draft prospects.

Now we might get another day of the draft in the future, and it might remain in May. And expanded playoffs might be coming this season, which dilute the product. How much is too much, Roger?

Goodell told NFL Media's Jeff Darlington that the league is considering extending the draft to four days, although it would remain at seven rounds. What's the point of that? Three days is too much for the draft. The two-day setup was better. Even if you like it over three days, why would anyone want to have a seven-round draft over four days? Overkill. But, it's another day for networks to pay the league for.

Of course they are. When they expanded it to three days, there were people that said they were happy with that, like it wasn't obviously a precursor to making it an all week spectacle. Soon, it'll be a 7 day affair.

He is killing the Golden Goose (NFL) slowly.

I am starting to believe what Cuban said " "Just watch. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. When you try to take it too far, people turn the other way. I'm just telling you, when you've got a good thing and you get greedy, it always, always, always, always, always turns on you. That's rule No. 1 of business."

Every move Goodell makes: draft on Thursday and Friday, games overseas, etc are to draw the casual fan interest. He could not care less about the diehard fans who spend their money on the NFL as he knows we will rework our schedule even if it sucks to accommodate the nfl.

Just a matter of time before the first round is all most long(plus a few days in June) so that each first round pick can have an entire day of coverage

Pre-nups is the answer. Women would half to forego their manly man love for another day and tough it out. Suffer, mama..

LoL. I know some guys that will divorce their wives if it ever came down to giving up Football or staying with their wife. And that may even include Fantasy Football too. Let your wife come and interrupt you two minutes before your Fantasy Football draft starts.

You'd think they'd get the hint when the 6th-round draft pick from N. Illinois with a bad knee is more interesting than the black lingerie she wear.
