Hope people will not be surprised if the league announces it is considering pushing the Super Bowl further into February and closer to March as well.

So dumb! I'm on vacation every year on Memorial Day weekend on my boat on the river.

Clearly Goodell wants to compete with the NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs and that's also when the Indy 500 kicks off as well. The NFL just wants some more attention I guess.

Stupid. That would kill half his TV ratings. People will be outside and on the lake.

This can't be right. A great number of people travel Memorial Day Weekend and have vacation activities planned. I can't imagine that the ratings would be higher than a regular spring weekend. Plus, it's too late in the offseason.

Yeah. I suppose I "understand" just fine. I just think they've got our dollars no matter what. The sport will naturally grow anyway and they'll always rake in more fans and therefore dollars-- but it's not something that's worth expediting at the risk of turning off your current loyal customers.

Not that this one move will deter fans like you or myself, but I just see it as another annoyance, another small change that does nothing to reward or retain current fans.

Perhaps the league hopes the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 will get rained out. That will force Indycar and NASCAR fans to look out for other sports-related stuff on the tube.

Hey. The NFL hoped a blizzard wouldn't postpone the Super Bowl and that worked out. Maybe they still feel lucky.

They may be laying the groundwork for expanding the season with more games.

I don't buy it. People don't watch tv like they usually do Memorial Day weekend, and the only reason you'd move it is for tv ratings

This.

I can remember back years ago when I complained about the league pushing the Super Bowl into February. January was traditional for the title game in my opinion. Oh well.
