I don't see the benefit of this month over last month it terms of ratings or money.

There is none, the nfl is a goldmine, if you started the draft at midnight, people would watch it. This is the nfl trying to reinvent the wheel, and pissing people off by doing so.

I just don't understand the NFL's desire to fix what isn't broken.

Just can't help themselves. I haven't missed a round of a draft in 15 years, but I am not spending Memorial day weekend watching it.
