Oh goody. Because there just isn't enough pre-draft talk now. Let's move it so we get more!

Not sure why to do it on that weekend with many going on vacation.

I get that some people will have an extra day off from work and they want to move it to a 4 day draft (which is dumb as well).

But there is no need to do it like that on that weekend.

It is bad enough right now because we got the draft thursday, friday and saturday and you have Mothers Day on Sunday.

The Dallas Mavericks’ owner said Sunday evening that he believes the NFL is 10 years from imploding. He’s a firm believer that even the strongest pro sports league in the world can suffer from over-saturation.

“When pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered,” Cuban said. “And they’re getting hoggy. When you try to take it too far, people turn the other way. I’m just telling you, when you got a good thing and you get greedy, it always, always, always, always, always turns against you.”

“They’re trying to take over every night of TV,” he said. “And initially, it’ll be the biggest rating thing there is. Then, if they get Saturday, now they’re impacting college. And then if they go to Wednesday, at some point, people get sick of it.”

Pretty Soon the NFL will make the draft a PPV event that you can watch only if you order the NFL Sunday Ticket. I mean it's getting ridiculous now. It sounds like Goodell is using this Memorial Day Weekend draft as a smoke screen to do what he initially wants and that is to keep the draft where it is right now in May.

But why May Vs April.

I don't see the benefit of this month over last month it terms of ratings or money.

I think there is a big ratings sweep week in early May if I'm not mistaking. It must mean more money for the NFL, but there is no way I'm buying the draft got moved back because Radio City already booked Muppets on Ice for that last week.

Goodell already had plans of moving back anyway.

Very, very greedy

No idea why - least desirable TV watch weekend.
Does not give NFL teams time to sign all their players and go back through FA lists.
Who's pushing this dumb idea - NFL offices????

The entire month of May is a sweeps month, along with February (the reason why the Super Bowl is there now), July, and November.

moving that late in the year would suck. players need to get to mini camp, get playbooks, etc. it will hurt more rookies than worth it.

A week or two later is not Memorial weekend.

Right or wrong...per the article...

In this potential scenario, the draft could begin on either the second or third full week of May, the latter of which could put the draft’s end date on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in 2015.

Not cool. Not cool at all. That weekend is for one thing and one thing only and that's honoring this country's servicemen and women.

Why not just hold it the day before training camp starts. The nfl is really pissing me off, it should always be in april.
