Well, well, well. We've been told to watch out for the refs cheating when it was just projection the whole time.

Cowboys holder Bryan Anger usually grabs a blade of grass and puts it down in front of him so he knows exactly where to put the football down when he's holding...

NFL ------>:huh:

We need to talk about how Fassel was unaware of this. There were several articles last week about the league issuing a memo on this. At the minimum, he should have been aware and sought clarification

Reminds me of a stinging proverb from the Bible:
"You hypocrites strain a gnat, yet swallow a camel"

The league's pretend-factory is hard at work. Trying to stress a sensible rule? No, they are trying to psych out select teams and players.

This from CBS Sports:
"I hadn't seen any memo or discussion about it," Fassel said, via the Cowboys official website. "I didn't even know about it until our holder came up to tell me what happened. Supposedly, it was emphasized all season but it's never been brought up to me my whole career."

Why is the NFL so intent on this bizarre nothingness? What is so intensely important about this meaningless marker to hold the football ?

Has the NFL simply become an overbearing HOA????
Banning using a plastic chip to place the ball on top of makes absolute sense. But banning the use of a blade of grass as a marker from the playing field is nonsense. I doubt the nfl front office even knew that the refs would take it to that extreme. The rule book says no foreign objects.

Is it just me, or is this whole thing ridiculous?
Seems like overkill.
I dont know if this is something but, on the first EP - Anger basically spots the ball right at the end of the hash mark - so do you really need a blade of grass to mark the spot.

On the second and third, he was off the hash mark by maybe 4-5 inches and the 4th back to the end. Dont know about the 5th.
