NFL Draft and Revenue

for the first round, I'm almost certain that they do not announce a pick while either network is on commercial

They also had to have "guest" announcers to read the cards.

It was a joke but never underestimate the NFL's ability to ruin a good thing.

The draft was an abomination this year. The NFL completely ruined it with the timing of picks.

They'd be five picks ahead of the announcements. It was pathetic.

This is why I listen to draft day coverage on the radio.
Norm Hitzges is greatness covering the draft.

There is no doubt the NFL owners screw the players far more than any other league. The lack of competition of any other league makes this possible along with what seems like a weak Union. The owners do what many in their situation do. They take greed to an absurd level. IMO.

Eventually, the players and the union will have to take a stand. Unfortunately this likely means I'll miss some games.

Sorry, but I feel no sympathy for the players. It's millionaires arguing with billionaires. Both sides are greedy, and the fans pay the price. Even the minimum salary is more than 95% of the fans in the stands make!

Once again, what is greed? Of course it's never us that is greedy, it's always the other fellow who is greedy. The world runs on individuals pursuing their separate interest.

You betcha -- the NFL Draft has now become the best show that's NOT on turf. -- LOL

It just seems a shame they've gotta "muck it up" with so doggone many commercials.

the fans CHOOSE to pay the price. when it gets to be too much, stop.

i quit watching baseball cause i just got tired of it and all the strikes. after the 3rd one, i was out. (seriously by that time i had more than enough of it) and i must admit that football is dying to me too.

part of me hates it but it's just change. they're changing, i'm changing, i don't sit and clutch a football while tony dorsett is breaking a 99 yard td run anymore and i don't cheer so loud those 3 cars down can hear me cause i'm listening while i go grab some food.

i'm diggin the hell out of this year but the constant "we're gonna clean up the league" bullcrap coupled with everything being a money grab is a turn off to me and making me appreciate it less.

my choice. my changes. and it doesn't matter what i make and comparing that to what they make is only self-frustrating so have fun. but it's still a choice to get worked up about it.

The billionaires control all the prices. Even the salaries. Somehow with what I'm sure is a very pro capitalist ideas they've capped salaries and made prices whatever they want because there's essentially no competition. 8$ for a beer. That's reasonable. It probably costs them less than a quarter to provide that one beer. That's a pretty good mark up.

So as is the case in many other areas of society there is one set of rules for some people and another for all others.
The millionaires, in this case, are the product and the labor. They deserve more.
There are levels of greed and a billionaire is a great example of this.

I'm not sticking up for the owners, but both the owners and the players are the reason that you pay $8 for a beer.

No YOU are the reason YOU pay $8 a beer. It is supply and demand.

If everyone told them to shove it, beers wouldn't cost $8, just like tickets and parking.

But they aren't going to reduce prices with lines around the block.

I'm not the reason beer is $8 at the stadium. I watch the games on TV.
