Yeah, we need to talk about this. Mazi would have been there at 32, without a doubt in my mind.

Again, don't hate the pick...but they could have gotten Mazi 6 picks later along with an extra 4th (or 3rd).

Jordan Davis was regularly mocked to go to them or Baltimore at 12/13 ish. Mazi was mocked to go much lower. Maybe Mazi turns out to be better, but coming out of college he is not considered the prospect that Jordan Davis is/was.

I think the Cowboys took value and flushed it down the toilet. They could have taken Smith ten picks down while picking up another Day #2 draft choice.

They could have picked up additional value by taking someone that dropped in the draft like Porter Jr. They could have neutralized any leverage Dak might have on contact renegotiations by taking Levis and grooming him as the potential replacement.

It's always funny listening to fans mouth off about our picks.
Remember Tyler Smith was a penalty machine and a reach?
Remember all the pouting when we missed the 2 CB's and slid back to take Micah Parsons?

We don't know.
Like it or not our FO has a nice history of hitting on draft picks overall.
Don't point out a bust because an exception does not disprove the rule.
