If a suit company is smart they'd get the nfl's permission to put the logos on the pocket or something.

The NFL had told Mike Nolan that if he grows his hair down to his arse he can wear a suit.

Go figure.

Actually to me that wasn't stupid, it was rather cool/different

Obviously he doesn't wear it like that to go shopping, but for gameday on an NFL team, it's pretty cool/different

I personally don't like long hair at all, but I wear my own hair very long every winter and grow a full beard because I work outside in the cold on a ranch and it's a lot warmer than short hair and no beard. Cows need to be fed every day in the winter and when I go to town, the cops always look at me suspiciously when they see the long hair. Conversely, in the spring I get my hair cut short to no longer than an inch and my beard gets trimmed to 1/4 inch because it is cooler to have a short beard than no beard and I work outside in the heat and need to stay cool. There's a method to my madness, but in all honesty, the long hair makes me feel dirty and scraggly, even though it's clean and well cared for and my annual spring haircut makes me feel clean and fresh, even when I get gritty and sweaty. Go figure.

I can't see any reason why any man would want to wear long hair unless he just has to or if that's the only way he could pick up girls, now that I could understand.

Im saying the NFL players come forward and say this is a bussiness and yet coaches cannot wear BUSSINESS suits.

The Majority of professional employees would be forced to cut their hair to appear more professional. It seems like a contradiction to say I'm a bussiness man with a $2,000 suit and a $0 Rats Nest for hair. Its all My Opinion that it blocks the view of their name and number for refs.

Who knows maybe the NFL will come up with an OFFICAL Ponytail band, Hell they already have an NFL logo Ref hat for all those children wanting to be NFL Ref's when they grow up... :lmao2:

How about this. The coach can continue to wear his NFL sanctioned clothing and he can let his hair grow as long as he wants. How's that for equality.

As far as the dress code rules goes, take a look at McDonalds. You can grow your hair as long as you want as long as you have it covered for health reasons. However, you have to wear your McDonalds uniform when working at all times.

See. Even Ronald McDonald get's it.

Exactly none of this should even be an issue really it's all a bunch of BS. Who cares if some guy has ratty long hair, it might look ugly, but so might your face and people don't complain about it. You can use the same argument to defense the "right" to wear a suit and "right" to have long hair.

I totally agree. If they don't like looking at it, change the damn channel!

The NFL should enforce a uniform code that limits the hair to shoulder length, which would barely touch the top of the back of the jersey.

There are dress codes, and uniform codes for a reason.

Sorry unless you want a huge lawsuit on your hands then the only way you can justify making people have short hair is if you can prove it is a safety hazard. If you can't say it is for safety reasons then people can claim it is an ethnic hair style and claim discrimination. In case you haven't noticed more and more brothas are wearing cornrows in the corperate world. I have an great idea for all you people who dont' like long hair. How about you stop putting your own morals, beliefs and likes/dislikes off on others. kthxbye

Interesting subject. The NFL and Baseball must have different rules, Yankee players are not allowed to grow facial hair, but Red Sox players can. Must not be a leauge policy there ?

Basketball coach's. as stated, can wear a suit of their choice.

When did the clothing rule change I wonder ?

Us "OLD" Dallas fans cannot forget Tom Landry roaming the sidelines in a suit and wearing the fedora hat.

I'm all for freedom of expression, but rules are rules.

Maybe the makers of "Official NFL Gear" should make suits too.
