The suspension is set to begin September 2nd. If I goes beyond that, how can they say it now starts on the 7th or whatever. If it goes beyond that, then Zeke should be eligible to play in game 1. But of course Mara will tell his dictator to change the rules.

But I would think they need to have a de ion before then. It is not fair to hold off and not allow Dallas to plan if he is available or not. But then again they are never fair to Dallas in any situation.
Zeke is playing Week One........... no way Henderson decides within a week and its a holiday weekend

Henderson dropped Hardy's suspension from 10 to 4 games

EE could have his reduced to 2 games to be more in line with recent DV cases

The NFL only needs the headlines...... the retractions get buried...... they have already milked the EE headlines
They will likely also reframe the suspension as a response to him pulling down the girls top, and sweep the domestic violence accusation under the rug.

If Zeke were to take reduction the NFL would have to complete admit they completely botched everything and should not have called him a "woman beater" without charges or a conviction.

Actually its works in Dallas' favor. Means the Giants have to gameplan for both possibilities.

I'm hoping Zeke's defense team had every single witness testify who to saw her before her fight on his birthday without injuries, have the two off duty police officers testify, and every person who heard her make any threats against him. Throw the kitchen sink at them!

They already had all of that information and it didn't matter apparently.

I read ya but getting any suspension and the reputation damage for a domestic violence he didn't commit doesn't seem acceptable to me.
That's were I am with this. It goes far beyond a suspension. It would pretty much make Elliott non-marketable. He would be labeled for life despite never being charged or convicted. Therefore, Elliott has got to go all the way with this, he cannot be suspended, not even one week.

He'd also be one incident away from a year long suspension or worse with this commissioner.

If I was innocent I would fight it as far as I possibly could.

How in the hell can they make Elliott testify "under oath"? This isn't a court proceeding. It's not a civil suit or a criminal matter. It's simply an NFL dog and pony show. I see no way they have the authority to put anyone under oath.

"They" didn't make Elliott do it - he insisted on it. To show that he is professing his innocence under oath, when his accuser didn't do the same thing.

Hate to say this and I don't mean to minimize what is happening in the Houston area, but with all the media attention on Hurricane Harvey, this would be the right time to get it "quietly" reduced or overturned.
Yeah, nothing like a natural disaster to bury a man-made disaster in the back pages.

That's all fine and well, but there's no repercussions for lying under oath under these circumstances.

That would make the NFL look absolutely terrible considering they've already said that incident was not considered in determining the suspension. To reverse course on that issue would make them look vindictive and prove they were wrong to begin with. I don't see it happening.

I think the mentality would be to treat the incident as "new business" since it wasn't already included but with a similar period of suspension.

However, you are correct, most people would see right through this clear cut case of retaliation.
