I really don't appreciate NFL Network's dishonesty when it comes to scheduled programming. I was anticipating seeing the Cowboys Broncos game yesterday when I came home from a party because the scheduled programming stated that's what the game would be. Instead, if was Football Life. Then, I just was getting ready to watch the Vikings and Raiders game, as scheduled, and the NFL Network's programming was actually Football Life again. I think it's really poor of the NFL to do that. If you're saying you're going to show an NFL game, show the game. If not, don't say you're going to show the game! It's really annoying.

that’s how it had it beginning of the week man here in South Texas, which was weird because I was like why would they put it on nfl network, local peeps will be pissed! Then gametime there it was on ABC.

I definitely understand that, if it's going to be aired in local areas, then it should be local stations.

Dude, I got the game on NFLN just fine. What I did find bizarre is that my TV had the Cowboys broncos game. But when I pulled up NFLN on my computer, it was the steelers game.

From what I saw, I didn't get the game. All I got when it was time for the game was Football Life.

I never saw Football Life. I'd be pretty mad too. But then again, I never saw two conflicting shows on the same channel based on what device I was using.

Many times in the past I'd be watching NFL network on my TV, then decide to continue watching upstairs on my computer and it was the exact same show. Oh no, not yesterday. Two totally different broadcasts.

That is ridiculous that it wouldn't show the same scheduled programming like that.

Preseason isn't what is used to be. Before the era of guaranteed contracts and the salary cap, preseason was a dress rehearsal for the regular season. Starters would get half a game. the whole purpose was that teams could hit the ground running week 1. Now, the preseason is all about keeping as many starters healthy as possible.

I like that it gives the young players a chance to prove to the team that they belong. However, I think veteran players should at least play a few drives in the first game, and probably a quarter in the second one for the reason you stated. At least it'd be better than nothing, and they can get the timing down better with their WRs. Especially with our team having new faces on offense.

It always gave the young guys a chance. But wouldn't it be nice if Dak could throw to Tolbert with a legit NFL caliber CB on him.......just to see if Tolbert has any chance of being good? Cooper Rush isn't good enough to evaluate a WR. Is Neville Gallimore stepping up or just benefiting from playing against scrubs?

The preseason has devolved to the point of being pretty worthless. The only thing we learned is that Denver has more depth than us.

I agree, and, frankly, I think everyone knows our depth is never really good, so I'm not sure what the point of that is. I'm not sure how giving our scrubs 60 minutes each preseason will teach us something new, while having the starters play at least a quarter each preseason, or maybe a few plays in the first game, would be good. Especially in our case with the fact we open against the Buccaneers, we need our team to be at the top of their game with all systems as a well-oiled machine if we want a chance at winning that one. Unless the coaches have just given up on that one and are willing to try how the season will play out. This is the time to get the players in tune with each other. Not week 1 of the regular season.

Where I live it showed the game was going to be on the NFL network, but it actually showed on a network affiliate (I think it was NBC). It's probably just about how local networks fit into the picture. They don't really have anything to gain by being intentionally dishonest.
