I love how ESPN spent like 30 min talking about the catch and not a dam word about Romo driving the team for the win

They were so pissed the Giants lost, looked like the anchor on there with Dilfer was going to start crying

LOL
I hated that they kept saying "Oh if had ony been a win the catch would have been so much more satisfying"

I don't know what they were watching but that ball wasn't at the 30 yard line at any point. They even brought in a NFL official who explained it was the right call, but implied that the ball may have been at the 30 yard line before McClain made contact. Bull! That ball was nowhere near the 30 before or after contact.

They also called Dez's TD controversial. The official said the ball moved in his hands but it wasn't enough to overturn it? I saw the ball move at one point, but Dez clearly had control and the defender knew it by his reaction. Why not just give the Cowboys credit without implying that two great plays in a comeback win are controversial? At least ESPN's Mike and Mike gave the Cowboys credit for a great win.

Plus... would it have mattered? Cowboy still had a minute left with 2 timeouts on the... 15 or so?

I was actually hoping it would've been over turned so we could burn more clock getting into the endzone. They weren't going to stop us.
This is ridiculous. You never take points off the board so you can run more time off the clock.

That used to describe Roy Williams, the safety. :(

Sadly he faded over time and became a liability. Hopefully McClain won't. I think he realizes he has been given a new lease on life, and is a leader here so will stay with us.

Well, I think what hurt RW was that the game changed on him. He was a ferocious hitter, including his horse collar tackles. But the game changed around him, and he wasn't able to be his old self anymore. A shame too. I was looking forward to him being Chief Head Hunter for the Cowboys for a long time.

Bull ****, Dez caught a TD against the giants and refs ruled a TD but then over turned it saying his fingers was on the goal line. It was not clear as his gloves was white if his fingers was up or laying across the line. We lost that game.

That fumble was clearly a fumble from the angle they showed after the ruling.

I don't know about the fumble, man. From what I could see, I thought that it was probably a fumble, but "probably" isn't enough to overturn a call on the field. It has to be incontrovertible proof. You'll notice they didn't say the ruling on the field was confirmed. They only said that the ruling stands. That means they just didn't have enough evidence.

No way.

Roy played too heavy, had limited football smarts, and wasn't really committed. He was good early on when he was allowed to run around and do whatever he wanted. He was young enough that his physical skills allowed him to excel for a while. But as his career moved on it was clear he wasn't putting the game first. He didn't work to get better. I recall even one time that he couldn't make a minicamp because of a family cruise. Players have a pretty good idea when minicamp is going to be yet he schedules himself for something else in that window?

That fumble was clear as day. The ball came out while the pile was still going forward and everybody was practically upright. The ball was in the air the entire time and the Cowboys were all over it and came out of the pile with it. There was plenty evidence to overturn it.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but why are fans still surprised?
The Cowboys are TOP DRAW!!! Their fans tune in win or lose to hear what is being said about them.
And they react louder and more vigorously than ANY OTHER fan base.
I mean, Colin Cowherd said as much. He said during production meetings, the bosses will say, "What can we say about the Cowboys" because the Cowboys generate clicks, ratings, responses, etc.
Cowboys win? Yeah, that's going to generate interest.
Cowboys win after controversial call? That's going to generate MAJOR feedback.

At some point, we've got to understand this. It may add years to our lives. Just saying. :)

Man. That actually makes a lot of sense. And I'd like more years on my life!

You are absolutely right. Great post

If you watch the one angle they showed after refs said ruling stands it clearly shows not down by contact. Anyways I'm done arguing this point

This was
It was a pretty clear play. When he first caught it in the air he was pretty close to the line, but he came down behind the line, and not because somebody pushed him back. The forward progress stops where you were when a defender contacts you, and when the defender contacted him, he was clearly far short of the 1st down.

This was already pointed out by another poster but when first contact was made by the defender, the reciever had caught the ball but his feet had not touched the ground. There is no catch until both feet hit the ground and by the time his feet did touch, he was atleast a half yard short. And as has also been pointed out, he never advanced the ball once his feet came down.

He did advance the ball. Sideways.
