Wow!

NFL players don’t vote Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo among league’s top 100 players

Tony Romo’s peers don’t consider the Dallas Cowboys quarterback to be one of the Top 100 players in the NFL.

They also don’t consider Romo to be one of the top 14 quarterbacks.

On Thursday, NFL Network continued to reveal their top 100 players of 2013 by showing the players ranked between 11 and 20. Romo didn’t make the cut, but four other quarterbacks did, meaning the final three QB spots are most likely going to Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

So which quarterbacks have been ranked ahead of Romo?

Here you go: No. 11 Drew Brees, No. 15 Robert Griffin III, No. 17 Matt Ryan, No. 19 Joe Flacco, No. 23 Andrew Luck, No. 43 Eli Manning, No. 46 Cam Newton, No. 51 Russell Wilson, No. 61 Ben Roethlisberger, No. 76 Matthew Stafford and No. 81 Colin Kaepernick.

I agree with Warner, I'd place him 10-12th.Not shocked he didn't make the top 100 at all. Having him out of the top 14 is crazy.

Ahhhh! Input! Offseason fodder but its news none the less. I'd put Romo in the top ten in the bottom 1/3.

I'm a huge Romo fan.I think after last year though he shouldn't be on the the top 100. Im curious how many qbs made the list however.

Maybe if he hadn't crapped the bed against the Commanders, he'd have snuck in, but that was a big stage to decide to reinforce every negative stereotype about yourself.

He was voted most overrated by the players in a SI poll a few year back. Not really a surprise.

time for a literary allusion:

in Midsummer Night's Dream, Titania accuses Oberon of lying by declaring: "These are the forgeries of jealousy!"

Same with Romo--is he overrated? underrated? what riles people is that he's always news

Good point. He does little to help his reputation when he screws up in big games. If it is a big game with national TV coverage, he falls apart.

Two things here that peeks my interest. Doesn't sound like players officially vote for the top 100 players.

And if you think that Cam Newton and Colin Capernick should be ahead of him, that is pretty funny. Neither one can read a defense, and one can only throw to the right side of the field. If anything, Capernick choked the SB away last season. He had Randy Moss wide open on back side slants at least 2 times, but failed to even look on the left side of the field. But he can sure run fast!

oh my God, let the Commanders game go already...he made a mistake, we lost....

romo not being in the top 100 is a farce, IMO...it seems to be a popularity contest somewhat if Ware was #12 (he is very good, but not top 12 in the league)

Tony is getting a little long in the tooth to let things like this bother him, but perhaps he uses it as motivation? we will see

The guy simply isn't a top player in the league, and he never will be until he wins something of significance.

The truth about Romo is somewhere in the middle. He isn't as great as some proclaim and not as bad as others say.

Problem is, when he comes up against legacy defining moments, he tends to give ammunition to the doubters.

Sounds like a jealous Cowboys fan to me.

There isn't a team in the NFL, CFL, AFL, or CIA who would take Romo over Kapernick.

Serious?

What happens when the league figures the whole running QB thing out?

As a Giants fan I would put him in Top 100 without any question. He may not be a Top 5 QB but he is in the Second 5 for sure. This has gotta do with the money he is getting. Jealousy might be a factor.

How about Newton?

But then coming from another notorious Romo hater this is no surprise

And Matt Ryan is top 20.

IMO he's the same Player as romo, he just has better PR.

Y'all would have eaten the ice moniker for lunch if it were attached to Romo.

and Ryan choked big time in the playoffs last year.

All these lists are worth nothing more than a bucket of warm spit
