They were 7-10 last year. They are like Dallas.
Easily in the 3rd/4th best spot. Could make a deep run as well.
But likely will fall just short.
I gave you debate. Hurtz was MVP runner up and his peers voted him as the 3rd best player in the league. San Fran beat Dallas in the playoffs and Philly went to the SB yet they weren't better than Dallas. That's your thoughtful debate.“I’d rather call names than engage in thoughtful debate”
Gotcha!
Last year. We Played poorly and lost to SF by a score and lost Pollard midway. Eagles got the easiest path to the SB ever and didn’t have to play us. Was a tight game both times even with Rush tossing INTs.I gave you debate. Hurtz was MVP runner up and his peers voted him as the 3rd best player in the league. Dallas may absolutely be better than Philly this year but you said "last year". I think Hertz won like 7 straight at the end of 2021 then went like 14-1 last season so he's about 21-1 over his last 22 regular season games. He can't be faulted for getting the 1 seed and then his D destroying the 49ers. Didn't he still put up like 35 on that vaunted Niners D. I agree he needs to string together some years but I literally have never seen a QB in my 50+ years improve that much over one offseason. Then he was phenomenal in the SB and Kelce from KC said Hurtz should have won MVP of the SB. But let's see if he can do it again.Last year. The year previous, Hurtz was openly questioned whether he was a viable long term starter. New staff, stacked roster, and played to his strengths a la Dak in 2016. I don’t think he can sustain it. I think we improved more than those two teams this off-season and who knows how the SF QB situation will shake out.
But I’m a homer because I think we will be better than one team we lost to by one score and we probably beat with a healthy Pollard and another team we split games with?
Hilarious esp because I’m one of the more skeptical ones here.
Yep I have my doubts but we will see…Dallas may absolutely be better than Philly this year but you said "last year". I don't know about 13 wins, but maybe 11? It's going to depend a lot on the roster. They won 7 games with some really bad QB play. They were 7-10 last year.
Do people really think Aaron Rodgers makes them a 13-win team all of a sudden? The Packers were 8-9 and he brought half the offense with him lol.
They put up 35 points, yes, but that's easier to do if you're getting the ball back more often. The 9ers weren't having any sustained drives. But I still don't think the 49ers would have won.Dallas may absolutely be better than Philly this year but you said "last year". You don't think Hurts improved a lot? He went from a QB where the team had a deal to trade him away and collected first round picks so they could target any QB in the draft as well to a MVP runner up. His throwing improved more than any QB in one off season then I've ever seen. He was a tremendous QB last year (running and throwing)They put up 35 points, yes, but that's easier to do if you're getting the ball back more often. The 9ers weren't having any sustained drives. I'm not sure Hurts improved as much as you think. What they did was change the gameplan to suit his talents. He's still not a QB that's going to drop back in the pocket and pick apart a defense. They tried that. The thing is, he doesn't have to do that anymore. He's really good at running the ball, and throwing into run defenses. Teams have to stop the run, and I'm not sure if it's going to happen this year. They still have a very good roster.
Let me put it another way. You couldn't just insert Hurts into our offense and expect him to play well. Dallas would have to change their entire gameplan.
Before last season the Eagles would have been lucky to get a 2nd round pick for him. But no, I don't think he has improved as a passer, because he never has to throw into coverage. He doesn't need to. I keep bringing this up, but Lamar Jackson had a similar season in 2019. He didn't have to throw into coverage either. His passing stats were through the roof and he was MVP. How's he doing now? He was never a great passer and never will be. But the situation around him in 2019 allowed him to be. Same with Hurts. We'll see how long it lasts for him. It lasted one year for Lamar. You don't think Hurts improved a lot? If you don't think he improved tremendously, particularly his throwing... I don't know what to say. He made beautiful throw after beautiful throw. He threw for over 300 yards in the SB. He was much better throwing the ball and not is as good of a runner as Lamar. Hurts has to prove it again but, again, he was excellent throwing the ball and protecting it last year. I don't think he did. I don't think he has shown he can throw into pass coverage. I'm still waiting for that. When he does, I'll give him the credit. He's throwing into heavy run defenses. He's the QB that can beat you if you stop the run and force him to beat you through the air. He'll beat you. But Dak, and I'm not a big fan, never really had that luxury beyond 2016. He does a lot of throwing into heavy pass coverage because he's no threat to run.If you don't think he improved tremendously, particularly his throwing... I don't know what to say. I'm not trying to fight. I 100% agree with you that one year doesn't make you a star (Wentz, Cam, Lamar). Hurtz has to prove he can keep his MVP play up. But what I saw last year is a leader, an extremely hard worker, a QB that works on his weaknesses, and a guy who got tremendously better throwing the ball. But, again, can he keep this up? He does have a great situation. The best OLine in football and 3 excellent receivers (Goedert).I don't think he did. I don't think he has shown he can throw into pass coverage. Excellent post. I'm not trying to fight either. You're not going to see me throwing around insults. Although I have in the past and regret them. What we're talking about is our perspective. I could be wrong. Just pay attention to the situations he is in when throwing the ball. He's in an offense right now that hides his weaknesses. We'll see how long he can keep this going. I don't fear Hurts as a passer. That playoff game against the Bucs showed how good of a passer he was. But they shut down their run game. Nobody has since.I'm not trying to fight. You might want to reconsider that statement. He's also top 5 in deep ball passing. They put up 35 points, yes, but that's easier to do if you're getting the ball back more often. The 9ers weren't having any sustained drives. But I still don't think the 49ers would have won.

If you play football, you know there is more to the game than stats. There is a huge difference between throwing into pass coverage as opposed to throwing into heavy run defenses. It's night and day. Ask Lamar Jackson after 2019. People that play the game don't need statistics. You might want to reconsider that statement.
