While I seriously doubt any of them care about the outcome of the games, I do believe they do a bad job as a whole. Why not get a younger group of refs out there, so many of these guys are 50ish, how about 30ish?

Saw a call vs the Bears that was so wrong it was comical, the TV guys talked about it, HC Nagy almost unloaded on a ref, very bad call.

Something has to be done about holding. I have seen holding calls where the ball carrier is far beyond the point where the called holding happened, it had nothing at all to do with anything. This has to stop.

So many times some kick returner get a good return......FLAG...yep, holding. Forget holding on special teams, go ahead and hold.....really, hell throw a guy down. Hell, wrestle.

Anyone thinking NFL refs care about outcomes of games is wrong, they don't. Do they suck making calls, absolutely!
Age discrimination? Yikes...

The notion that a 30 year old is better suited to officiate a game than a 50 or 60 year old is nonsense. VERY easy to argue that the exact opposite is true (because it is).

ONE MORE TIME
Go.
Duh
What do you want a project veritas expose . . . do you want me to break the story with some whistle blowers .

I layed down the crumbs now you follow the trail.
.if you want to be a happy ostrich stick your head in the ground

You believe its not fixed but their are terrible refs that make stupid calls at the wrong time.

I am telling you all the founder families of the NFL were involved with the Mafia and Gambling . . . everything is Orchastrated . . . its one big circus

And you are a fool to believe the best team that plays the hardest will always win fair and square

Yet all we do is complain all week about the obvious calls that were missed

Dude, having bad refs has zero to do with gambling, ok rookie? Do you have any idea at all how hard it would be to fix NFL games?

Think.....those gambling establishments are going to stand by an allow fixed NFL games to cost them $$$$$$, hell no. Are you nuts?

Dude, grow up, ok amigo?

B/c athleticism is no factor at all and experience is everything, so for exactly the same reason that 30 year olds don’t wrestle jobs away from me in my fields.

Not sure there are many 30 year olds competent enough to be college officials.

Well actually I said 30's and 50's, not....30.

Not buying it, get some young guys out there who are quicker on their feet, not as rigid in their decision making, younger eyes.

Quicker on their feet makes zero difference. Refs call games as they’re told to call games. If the league wants an emphasis on something, that’s what they do. ‘Younger eyes’? I’ll take a 60 y/o neurosurgeon over a 40 y/o every time. My eyesight is 20/20 and correctable to better than that, so the age of their eyes is yet another non-factor.

Eyesight a non factor, hahaha!!!! Dude, please.

So the refs are told how to call games? So all the refs are crooks as is everyone associated with pro football and the gambling houses losing $$$$ are ok with that?

Here we have some kid who needs to get off the computer.

This ‘kid’ is 60, but you would’ve picked up on that if you were perceptive. I guess you think because your mental acuity has declined that others have as well. I’ll solve the mystery for you: it’s just you.

Watched very little of that game as sleep prevailed but I remember that play and was perplexed how it went without notice by the refs.

Start a thread ....The NFL is Rigged.....and watch what happens, nobody buys that because it simply isn;t happening.

You keep ignoring this, pay attention and respond.

You understand how big time gambling works? Do you honestly believe the gambling houses like we see in Nevada would allow the NFL to fix games that cost them $$$$$$. Dude, that won't happen,

Now talk to me about that stop ignoring it. Do you really think Vegas will let the NFL cost them $$$$$$, well?

Too many refs, too many penalties

Get rid of half the refs and let’s play football

Who knows. Maybe they keep it exciting. Maybe they throw the games or shave points or just can not keep up with the 1000 things that go on during each play. I do think you should be able to challenge any flag. As a part of your 3 time outs you get then you get 2 challenges. If you win both then you get a 3rd. And they review it and show each angle on the big screen like they usually do anyways. I wonder how many times the refs blow a call and see it on the jumbo and realize holy crap I was wrong and totally blew this call. Please snap the ball and move on.

Seems obvious at times refs keep the games exciting and close ., i don't know about the whole betting conspiracies because i dont bet .

But it does seem blatant at times that the refs throw flags to keep the games close.

Nobody said the NFL is rigged, fool. I said that the NFL tells refs what to place emphasis on. They want taunting called more closely? Done. Helmet to helmet contact? Done. Leading with the crown? Done.

And by the way, if the NFL wanted to ensure that a particular team benefited from calls, they could do that. It would only take one official to make that happen. Do they? I hope not, but it’s within their power.

There is no doubt in my mind that the refs change the outcome of the games .

Just like harsh weather , coaching decisions, etc ...

I have no doubt in my mind .

It’s in the league’s best interest to do that, so if it’s a coincidence, okay, but would anybody really be surprised, especially considering the efforts the league goes through to create parity?

The NFL is in the entertainment business. Period. They feast on ratings, ticket sales, merch, concessions….all the things that generate revenue.

I agree with you here, especially on the experience part. Not just for officiating experience but life experience. If people like to claim that refs are biased now, how much more likely would they be biased if they're some 30-year old not far removed from fanatical college/sports rivalries when stuff like that is more important to them than an older person more seasoned to gravitate towards a well-rounded idea of what's important in life like family, profession, etc.? There's a reason civilizations have tended to defer to their elders with more experience for things like judgement, etc.

That being said, it doesn't have to be an either/or situation. I could be okay with some younger officials for the reasons @RaZon states but in no circumstance would I put them in positions of being able to overrule a call on the field. That's just me though. I think some mix could work.
