To be honest, you claim the NFL is rigged and you're also here still watching. Why do you?
Because I have been watching for over 35 years now. . . . Was it always rigged I imagion so . . . but it was never as bad as it is now . . . but gambling has exploded online . . . I just found out about how obvious it was a few years ago . . . combined with the Kapernick dope show. . . And Jerry bungling Dak's contract I was almost done with the league

Then we drafted Micah and now I am all on for the Show

Dude, having bad refs has zero to do with gambling, ok rookie? Do you have any idea at all how hard it would be to fix NFL games?

Think.....those gambling establishments are going to stand by an allow fixed NFL games to cost them $$$$$$, hell no. Are you nuts?

Dude, grow up, ok amigo?
Lol . . . they are the ones orchestrating it . . . I told you the founding fathers of The NFL were involved in the Mafia and Gambling

LOL. All sports are entertainment. Why do you think people attend games and watch on TV? For educational purposes? As part of their vocation? National security? You are really, really paranoid. The officials suck but it’s not some big conspiracy. You must be fun at parties, looking over your shoulder all the time for those dastardly Freemasons plotting against you.
I wasn't talking figuratively I am talking literally

NFL is Sports Entertainment, Fixing is LegalPosted by BTRDD

Just to remind everyone that the NFL has defined itself in court as a Sports Entertainment Business. This argued in court when the Jets fans sued the New England Patriots and the NFL for the SpyGate years ago. The courts found in favor of the NFL. What this means is fixing a game is legal.

There is no possible way that those penalties were missed. They were ignored. Add to the fact that many of the officials were from LA?

you mean the one they called low block when the defender was simply trying to get through the block and get to cooks and he did make that tackle..thats not the rule..yes 15 yards and ruined a drive

there are so many bad calls or non calls weekly its just never going to get right until they add a sky judge and another ref on each sideline just watching replay's ie watching the game like us on tv monitor and not having to need for challenge because typically all the fans and broadcasters see the mistakes as they are happening, why can't they? more use of tv playback from broadcasts and less refs on the field , thats the fix.

these refs are overwhelmed and cant keep up in real time.also in real time they cant get the rules sorted out correctly and just wing if. Time constraints and the speed of the game has left this archaic way of calling a game.
Well the athletes that play the game are getting stronger and faster. In the last 30 years the speed of the game has increased with better athletes. The only thing that hasn't gotten faster or younger is the refs. Maybe the NFL should start considering getting younger guys to watch the games better.

a mix of more tech and younger refs sure but tech is already in place they need to have official use it like i described..less field refs more watching the broadcast and calling down to field officials..easy peasy..

I agree with you here, especially on the experience part. Not just for officiating experience but life experience. If people like to claim that refs are biased now, how much more likely would they be biased if they're some 30-year old not far removed from fanatical college/sports rivalries when stuff like that is more important to them than an older person more seasoned to gravitate towards a well-rounded idea of what's important in life like family, profession, etc.? There's a reason civilizations have tended to defer to their elders with more experience for things like judgement, etc.

That being said, it doesn't have to be an either/or situation. I could be okay with some younger officials for the reasons @RaZon states but in no circumstance would I put them in positions of being able to overrule a call on the field. That's just me though. I think some mix could work.

It’s the experience. Just as in industry, there are always a handful of younger people that can handle the responsibility, but it’s typically an older man’s job (45+) based on experience alone. They have to come up through the ranks, grade in, etc. ‘Better eyesight’ is silly. So much more goes into ref’ing a pro game than most people think about. Doesn’t matter. The NFL has decided how those jobs are doled out. Some 72 y/o dude’s opinion on a fan site isn’t going to change that.

Anyone thinking NFL refs care about outcomes of games is wrong, they don't. Do they suck making calls, absolutely!

The refs do as their bosses tell them.

They have countless field cameras, with offices in New York scrutinizing everything. They can--often do-- over-rule calls if they want. Refs are in constant audio contact with other league parties.

So it's obvious that officiating is broken by design, not by human failure. Follow the money. Always follow the money.

Officiating has always been a problem. Unfortunately it’s difficult to take out the human element. But the league is trying to overcome and why they begin using instant replay to help correct bad calls.

We probably have fans that don’t recall a league without Instant Replay . And when they finally decided to start reviewing certain calls.

And probably where we will end up by reviewing every play and penalty. It’s really sad that fans think it must be perfected without any imperfections.

Like every catch and TD must be absolute. Totally ridiculous. It’s a game played and officiated by humans.

So you don't think the NFL rigged, right?

How many times do I have to say the same thing?

Do I think it’s possible for a single official to influence a game? Yes.

Do I think the NFL is ‘rigged’? I hope not.

So you really think refs are cheats, so the NFL hires low character individuals to ref their games, right?

Do you have any idea at all what it takes to become an NFL ref, ya don't do ya?

I dont really think they are crooked as much as slow and old.

If the league wanted to get the calls right they could, but that would give up manipulation if they need it.

That's why I'm skeptical.

I don't think anything can be done about bad calls, saw a bad non call in the Rams/Seahawks game, hell defender grabbed the guys arms.....no penalty. what??????? Cost the Seahawks a very real shot at tying things up.

I think its a subconscious problem with the refs. Like when games aren't close and then all of a sudden they favor the team getting killed. Or when its against a team like the pats, I've said it for years the refs are scared of bellicheck.

Ever notice the Super bowl isn't a million flags. because the nfl knows nobody wants to watch that BS. I don't understand why they can't ref like that every week. The simple premise..... if its obvious its a foul. If its not let it go.

Also its a billion dollar industry your telling me they can't put 10 refs in a room, quickly diagnose if a call is correct or not, signal to the on field officials and not stop the flow of the game? Of course they can, they just won't cause of stubbornness.

It could very well be that there are fewer flags in the NFL because the two best and most disciplined teams (or at least two of the best) are playing. Also the highest rated officiating crew does the Super Bowl.

Person in booth that overrules ridiculousness.

What reason is there that that person doesn't exist, or worse yet....seems to sort of exist sometimes?
