NFL rescinded the $13,611 fine given to Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson for saying he was “shotgunning a beer”. Ferguson told the league it was his Gatorade celebration that he previously had done on multiple occasions in practice, as the team had documented on social media. Fine rescinded.

Too funny in the post that I made in original post when he got the fine I said since it was judged by an interpretation, he should just say it wasn't a beer but something else. Looks like that worked.

Yea. Gatorade. And they bought it.
Ferguson’s best play of the season.

We salute you Mr. Pretending to drink a beer on the field but states it was a juice when miller light officially sponsors your team guy.

The NFL and my HOA have a lot in common...

After what two officials did this past weekend, it seems like a good time for the NFL to rescind some of these ridiculous fines.

Personally I wish they would be more lenient on individual celebrations and stop allowing those goofy-a** group celebrations involving half the roster. What is more disrespectful to an opponent? One player making a gesture, or 18 players acting like someone spilled a human sized ant farm in the endzone?

I gotta be honest. This decision-making time lag is irking the fool out of me.

People record their favorite team's game. They can fast-forward and rewind past commercials and timeouts, cutting the actual length of the real game to a much shorter length.

People also use email and cellphones.

The League publishes its game summaries within an hour after they finish. Summaries include the entire play-by-play, INCLUDING every penalty and exactly when every penalty is called and who the penalty was called on.

The League has instantaneous access to all video of every game. They can fast-forward and rewind to exact moments of every penalty THAT REQUIRES DISCIPLINARY ACTION ONLY.

Despite this technological advantage and convenience, the League cannot review 16 games for required disciplinary follow-up, contact offenders, make judgments, and issue fines for nearly a week.

These people process info slower than Dean Blandino on horse tranquilizer.

The NFL promotes gambling and drinking there was never a point to fine someone for pretending to drink

And who knows what he was pretending to drink

Couldve been Pabst blue ribbon mixed with 2% milk

But he said gatorade so w/e

It is definitely a hypocritical stance for the League, based upon their inclusion of gambling and alcohol partnerships and sponsorships with those industries. Even so, the NFL will die on their morally constructed hill, maintaining the 'dignity' of the shield.
