The giants are deep at WR, they probably liked Monk in the draft and decided to take a look at him for a few days. It also gives them a leg up on the competition when it comes to putting him on the practice squad. The guy has moved twice now he may not want to move again. I think Brandon London is the WR they let go that needs to be taken a hard look at.

He's basically their version of Miles Austin(they had him on their practice squad last year). He's 6-4 207 and I've seen as low as 4.47 and as high as 4.56 on him. But he's considered big and fast whatever the time.

BTW, Jerry and the scouting department were very high on Dan Bazuin in that Draft. It will not surprise me if he gets a call if he is healthy. I confess I do not know if he is or not.

Dan Bazuin Q&A
By
Brad Biggs
on August 29, 2008 9:12 PM | Permalink | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)

Dan Bazuin, the second-round draft pick from Central Michigan in 2007, talked about learning his fate Friday morning when the Bears informed him he would be placed on waivers Saturday. Bazuin had two surgeries on his left knee last year and leaves without appearing in a regular-season game.

His comments in an interview with the Inside the Bears staff earlier today:

WERE YOU SURPRISED?

"I some ways I saw it coming. But it's really a surprise when you actually get the announcment that you're going to be released."

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?

"I went to work this morning like I always do. One of the personnel guys came and got me and they told me."

DID YOU MEET WITH LOVIE?

"Yeah, I met with him and it was good. He said he still thinks I am a great player. He said there are a lot of circumstances that have changed since I was drafted. He told me not to get too down on myself because he sees me being a player in this league. He told me there were a lot of circumstances that led to this. A lot of things changed since they drafted me in the second round. He had encouraging things to say."

YOU NEVER WERE BACK TO 100 PERCENT, WERE YOU?

"I never claimed to be 100 percent. I was just trying to improve and become a better player."

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE KNEE? IT WAS A MENISCUS ISSUE, RIGHT?

"I had two separate surgeries on my left knee. The first one was to repair the meniscus. The second was for the trochlear groove. I don't know how to spell it."

WHAT IS IT THAT IS STILL BOTHERING YOU? YOU'RE CLEARLY NOT 100 PERCENT?

"I'm not really certain. The weakness seems to be coming from underneath the knee cap. I've never felt as fast or as explosive as I was."

HAVE YOU EVEN BEEN CLOSE TO 100 PERCENT SINCE THE ORIGINAL INJURY?

"The closest I felt to 100 percent was before training camp starter. Then after the first week I started feeling some of the same symptoms again."

IS THERE ANY BITTERNESS FOLLOWING TODAY'S EVENTS?

"I had a great time in the year I was with the Bears and I appreciate everything they have done for me. There were just a lot of circumstances that were totally out of my control. Alex Brown, we never thought he would be back and then he signed and he's not going anywhere. Partially, I want to show the Bears they made a mistake. But I'm not going to hold a grudge against the Bears. This isn't the end of my NFL career. I'm just looking forward to whatever is next for me, if it's in a few days or the next few months. It's just a matter of time.''
