Whenever the word "rumor" enters the conversation, I normally choose to divert my attention elsewhere.

It could be beneficial for many of us to do likewise to avoid pointless hand wringing and argumentation.

About as often as not, rumors have no basis in fact but are so often fabrications of mindtless creatures.
