the nfl isnt for diehard fans but for a casual audience because a schedule release like this and a black friday game is just a clown show to me

drop the schedule all at once and go away
I wonder if tickets for black friday will be cheap?? like $25 each any seat lol

The NFL is really starting to water down their product. Their doing too much with all these international games and now black Friday games. The reason the NFL get so many people to tune in is due to the limited amount of days it's on. Thursday football is already crap, imagine them now trying to shove all these games in our eye balls. Even the Thanksgiving night game is crap, and I don't think I'm gonna wake up early to watch a game in London, never have and don't plan to unless it's Dallas.
I only watch Cowboys games so no skin off my teeth, lol

Same here. I'll watch other games during play off races, if it has an effect on our seeding.

I have to wonder what people in london who become jaguars fans and then come to america to see them think.

I can't imagine the shock of being from London and coming to a dump like Jacksonville. Hot, muggy weather surrounded by drunk/high rednecks. I would think you would go home and burn all your jaguars gear after a visit to that place.
But that’s the thing, 99% of the 80,000 odd fans there are fans of the 31 other teams… With teams like Patriots, Cowboys, Bears etc being the highest in attendance.
The Jags will have the support of all those fans on the day, unless they’re playing their team… The atmosphere there is fantastic.

The NFL will be 3rd fiddle to soccer and basketball in Europe at best. Its a niche' sport in Europe. No tradition or youth participation. Its basically an appeal to ex-pats.

The NFL would be wise not to forget its base and who made it what it is today.
I love how people say this. NHL fans say it all the time too.

The bases that matter are corporate sponsorships, corporations who buy boxes, and people who watch on TV.

Die hards aren't where the money is.
2023___5 games overseas - out of 272 scheduled = 2%
As long as the international games are spread out over the years among the 31 teams (Jacksonville is the exception), I'm ok with it..
but remove that particular "home game" from a season-ticket holders package.

If we ever lost a home game for this reason, I guarantee Jerry will just raise the prices to make up for the difference. That's what kind of ******* he is.

Remember when Daniel Synder one year was charging fans to attended training camp?

One of the main reasons the NHL made so many rule changes after their last lockout was because the game had become too watered down. Too many stoppages, rules that killed the flow of the game, too many commercials. The die hards left in droves. Corporate sponsorships, etc only matter when the die hards are around.

Nope.

The NHL is a little bit more dependent on attendance than the NFL, but those new rules were all meant to attract a new, younger audience.

I'm not sure what the point is here. The games themselves don't matter, it's about exposure to a new audience to sell TV rights there.

You might get 100,000 people to a game, but the value is in getting a million to watch a game every week.

I understand the Lions are supposed to be pretty good, but a non playoff team in the Thursday Night opener against the Super Bowl champs. That's a terrible first game specially with the Bills, Bengals, Eagles or even the Dolphins on their schedule.

Home
SF / Arizona = one trip. They will stay out west.
Back home for Seattle
3 hour flight to Miami
Quick trip to Buffalo
1 hour flight to Washington
Home
Crappy flight to Vegas
At Dallas

So out of those 7 games, they will make one flight for two games. The rest they stay on the east coast get a home game, then a flight to Vegas and Dallas.

Home for four weeks with a bye in there. The aways are tough. But it’s not like they are back and forth

It sets up nice for a playoff run
Lol. Always some 'splainin'. 7 of 9 on the road. Show me another place that's happened. If that happened to us it would be bloody murder bias. To a division rival, it's actually nothing.

NFL Fans living in Europe wiil tune in and watch those games each week.
Pretty sure the games will be shown locally/regionally in England and Germany for those that don't attend in person.
It would make no sense for the NFL not to have set up agreements for broadcasting rights with those nations' television networks.

Right, I'm sure they do and will continue to move that direction.

The idea though is increasing viewers to drive up the cost. Those games are basically just an expensive commercial.
