NFL teams made more money but only because current contract not affected by ratings decline yet

No its not lol. That's the promotors charging you. You can't get upset with the people hired to do the event. That's like being mad at the cook or the security.
The entertainers are the product being sold. Much like the meal being cooked . The cook or promoter is only a part of the expense. Without the product there wouldn’t be anything to cook or promote.

What's a 4-carat diamond worth. A lot. What if they were laying all over the ground for miles and miles. They'd be worth nothing.

Value in anything is directly related to its rarity. What somebody makes is directly proportionate to how hard they are to replace.

The truly overpaid are head coaches.

Coaches are usually paid LESS than starting players, and they’re usually much smarter and more responsible.

My internet is fine......you are lying if you say it never buffers or lags during live sports in HD

But my internet provider is also my cable provider so why would I stream when I have 55'' in HD
Doesn't lag or buffer and I sure dont lose service if the sky gets a few clouds either like those ****** dish providers.

And when fans pay to come see coaches knock bodies and make outstanding skill plays, then their salaries will go up. LOL.

Like I said before, people place too much value on players’ “skill sets”. They value physicality over mental prowess.

For some, its not about what they make, it's about who's making it. This is why I laugh when people show a disdain for a player with an agent from RocNation Sports, because naturally they evaluate sports agent firms on a day to day basis, lol.
Are you suggesting there’s some bigotry from fans in who they support?

This is true but it still doesn't mean the entertainers are charging you lol. There are plenty of concerts done for free that are sponsored by companies.

Now your sounding like Jerry. I was with you until this last sentence.

HC in professional sports are possibly overpaid if they aren’t influencing the talent being assembled . But with a league based mostly on talent there is or should be a premium on who’s gathering it , sensing the teams priorities and an eye for those who fit into their schemes.
I mean it in terms of what pro head coaches are these days.

They wield little power, making a fraction of what their star players make. GMs do the personnel stuff. Head coaches are largely interchangeable with the same guys just moving around the league. If you have a great quarterback, you get to be Mike McCarthy and Mike Tomlin. If you don't, you're John Fox and Marvin Lewis. This is a quarterback-driven league.

Now, college head coaches are supremely valuable because they put recruit and carry huge power throughout the entire program.

Coaches are overrated in sports. There are a handful that can change a game...but coincidentally they all seem to have the best talent.

Wonder how “close” Le’Veon Bell feels to you and I! Fans like you can make excuses for them all day, but they ARE overpaid when compared to the common. OF COURSE the owners are arrogant, greedy *******s that take advantage and make 100X as much money, but the owners of McDonald’s are too, and they make 10,000X as much as THEIR employees.
Why would we compare these Athletes to the Common man instead of other Entertainers?

Any entertainer where it’s a Sitcom or Athlete who’s on Prime Time TV is not what I’d describe as a Common man. Why shouldn’t Tom Brady be as valuable as Jerry Seinfeld?

Oh, so it's not what players make that you have a problem with, it's society's value system. And you say this as a citizen in a capitalist nation. Okay.

I agree it is a QB driven league. With that said, if you left the QB's and replaced all other players on the field with lesser players would you really be able to tell the difference. The next best 1650 players in the world. Other than a handful of great plays, I am not sure you would!

You guys have zero ideas how contracts work......bunch of NFL cheerleaders....they can do no wrong in your loving eyes

You know that Netflix just had record revenue but missed subscriber estimates by 700k and the stock tumbled 15%+

The TV deals have been locked in for years at staggered and pre-set increases

Even GB admits it took in less money at Lambeau

The NFL can be #1 and slipping at the same time....and a 20% drop is not a death blow but it is real

But keep your pom poms dry......Goodell needs ya

There have been several contracts signed that were for money like the streaming stuff and TNF since you started your narrative that the new contracts would be diminished.

A reward for being born faster and stronger? We place too much value on athlete’s “skills”. Doesn’t it matter that Bell is an arrogant, ungrateful awesome person?
ES, I get his stance on this, they just gave the WR 18M a year. Did they think that would not have a domino effect? Is Bell not just as important to the team as Brown?

Every player and agent is doing the comparison to not only their position on other teams but other players on their team.

Every player in the NFL has one goal, to make as much as they possible can during their time in. These high QB salaries are going to take their toll as well.

As fans we want loyalty but that does not exist and never did. The players back then just didn't have the option. There is no loyalty within the game, owners, players, none, not one bit. It's the same in every sport, the only difference is it's easier to buy a winner in the other sports.

You give players like Lilly, Jordan, Meredith, Pearson, Dorsett, etc the option to move for more money and they'd jump on it.

True, except for the offensive and defensive lines. That's why I'm so glad that Dallas pays attention to the lines now. That's the one really good thing Jason Garrett has done.

So now we can’t acknowledge a flaw in ideology without being labeled hypocritical by those that present themselves as enlightened elitists?

Which is the key you’ve hit on. Usually the best coaches assemble the best talent or at least better talent.

And not only assemble but often develop and mature into their schemes.
