NFL to put these three classic Cowboys games on YouTube

After tallying fan votes, the NFL has released a list of 96 games (three for every team) they will upload on YouTube in their entirety this August.

Here of the games Cowboys fans will soon be able to enjoy:

Super Bowl XXVII: This game, which received 42 percent of the fan vote, was a total romp, as the Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills, 52-17, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. It was the first of two consecutive Super Bowl victories over the Bills for the Cowboys. Quarterback Troy Aikman was the game's MVP and O.J. Simpson did the opening coin toss.

Even though some of these other games are losses, it is good for fans to watch that never got the opportunity to see them live. I would encourage younger fans to watch the older games just to get a taste of how things were, since it just seems a lot of people identify with the early 1990s only or some have never had a chance to watch beyond highlights.

Whole games display far more truths than the slo-mo music infused highlights that most people are familiar with from NFL Films.

That 1980 NFC Championship game against the Eagles is and will always be my catalyst for hating the Eagles more than any team on the planet. My then brother in law was from NY and a huge Eagles fan and it was miserable losing that game to them. I have hated the Eagles ever since and I continue to celebrate the day my sister divorced his sorry butt every since :)

Each team’s fans got to pick three.

The fact some teams relish the Cowboys losing is a result.

SBXIII has to be included then, no?

It has to rank as the crown jewel in Steelers history. Had the Cowboys won it would likely rank as our greatest win ever.

That game was far more painful - and historically significant - than "the catch" game three years later.

The fact that so many teams fans have picked that "remember the time we beat the Cowboys" as their most favorable moment tells me the Cowboys ARE America's Team. Deal with it America. Many Americans are anti-American. They live in places like NYC, SF, Philthy, DC, and Pittsburgh.

\Maybe Houston too

As voted on by NFL fans on Facebook, 96 of the most memorable games in NFL history will be uploaded to the NFL's official YouTube channel this August.

From an initial list of 160 classic games compiled by NFL Media/NFL Films in collaboration with NFL Clubs, fans made the final decision on the three most memorable games per franchise. The full network broadcasts of all 96 games will be uploaded this August in conjunction with the start of the NFL preseason.

Voting began June 20th and ended on Tuesday. Here are the YouTube games we'll upload for all 32 NFL teams in August: http://******/29hnjSi

Same here, especially the nasty comments that Dick Vermeil said after the game about the Cowboys. I can't remember what it was. But it seemed he was more thrilled they beat the Cowboys than they were about playing in and eventually losing the SB...all focus was on the Cowboys still, and not the next game.
We were still in their heads though.

I can say I appreciated the Raiders beating them down. They deserved it, that game in Philadelphia was my first exposure to the crude Eagles fan base. Prior to that I barely noticed since we beat them constantly.

Vermeil especially was annoying. Whining to the refs constantly. The Eagles carried him off the field several times, included regular season games which was pathetic.

Right, as I was never a big Oakland fan either, but that day I was.

That Texans loss was so bad, especially anyone that lives in the Houston area. It was like they won the superbowl in there first game. That was the first year of hard knocks and I still remember campo talking crap about the Texans after beating them in preseason

I wish they would have picked these three instead (selfishly, I have all three of those games on DVD):
  • 1968 NFC Divisional Playoff - Cowboys 52, Browns 14 - would have loved to see Meredith, Perkins and Hayes at their best.
  • 1975 NFC Championship Game - Cowboys 37, Rams 7 - Staubach and the Doomsday Defense living large.
  • 1991 Regular Season Week 11 - Cowboys 24, Rams 21 - this was the game that began the ascent of the Triplets - Aikman throws for 300 yards, Emmitt Smith caught 100 yards of passes, Irvin caught 2 touchdowns.
