Great game last night! Wow, that Barkley signing was big for the Eagles. They also quietly rebuilt that Dline. Jordan Love is hurt and could be out for season. Didn't look good what happened to his knee. He is really really good. Both these teams are much better than what Dallas is trotting out on the field. How about them Eagles. Go Browns!

Didn't see the game, and fell asleep early.

Thought the Eagles were done for checking on the game on my phone during the first quarter, and went to sleep on a high note because it didn't seem like coming back from behind was their MO from last year LOL

Watched the highlights this morning.

NFL should be ashamed of themselves for the playing field both teams had to deal with from what I saw last night...

I also really wonder how many people in Brazil care about NFL games. Football means something entirely different in South America LOL. I don't care who the team is, dragging them to another country to play a game that counts in league is beyond stupid to at least myself. Flying from Green Bay to South America round trip is more than an entire day.

both the teams we saw last night after deep reflection, are sloppy on defense and beatable. Eagles won THAT battle but have much deeper issues. Hurts was not good. Barkley IS what we thought he was. Good RB that they must lean on to win. If he ever goes down they are in trouble. We have an opportunity.

I didn't care crap about who won between the Chiefs/Ravs or the Eagles/Packs.

I want to see legitimate football on an even field with even officiating. The NFL increasingly seems less interested in delivering that.

Who's the loser? Fans who want real football. Insert Coin. Try again.
Wasn't calling you a loser. You said "lots of fans" complaining. I didn't see last night's game, but I've seen enough to know that the losing team fans always cry about refs and scripts.

So just have to hope he gets injured, is that it? What a sad, pathetic state of things.

My takeaway was that Josh Jacobs is that dude.....he averaged over 5 yards a carry and should have run him more than 16 times.

He's gonna be a handful if we are fortunate enough to see them in the playoffs again

The ratings on a SNF game for these teams would’ve been fantastic. Fri night on peacock isn’t it. I didn’t watch a single play.

Isaiah Rodgers was an iffy scratch, he’ll be back Monday night. That should help a lot
That's a lot hope being put in Rodgers.

Early thoughts on Birds: Offense clearly has skill talent, Barkley might be a beast behind that OL. Hurts? You may have to live with the good and the bad, he made some nice throws but then some confoundingly bad throws.

Defense? They are lucky the Packers didn't drop close to 40 on them. There was the called back TD that was due to two guys just running off the field while subbing and then the next two drives, two really dumb penalties prevented them from getting TDs. They still scored 29 and Love wasn't even that sharp, missing guys all night including Watson open in the end zone earlier in the game, etc. Fangio will have to go back to the drawing board.

I understand the inclination to want to downplay the result of the game. If it makes you feel better there’s nothing wrong with it. One take away is both teams’ off season running back acquisitions made a difference in a game where both teams’ vaunted, very high paid quarterbacks did not play well. And although one day is spent returning home from further away than the international games played in Europe, Philly still gets one extra day to review what didn’t go well and prepare for who ever they play next week.

Two games played...and two games played where lots of fans are justifiably questioning the officiating and how it seemed one-sided...perhaps even bent on determining the outcome. A very, very ugly start for the league.
Excuses already getting warmed up in the oven for our game.

But...but....the Refs

Agreed. Did you see how much time Hurts had late in that game? He had more time in the pocket than hard candy at a retirement home. So much time that he drew defensive holding calls. You can't give a QB 5-10 seconds to throw.

LOL

I'm guessing the Cowboys are never the recipient of the "one sided calls" in your version of reality?

I thought it was a sloppy game by both teams. It was a sloppy officiated game, but I guess that's expected with the first game of the year. The Eagles didn't play their starters the entire preseason, and it showed. They almost didn't get away with that. Regardless, they won against a very good team against a football team that went deep into the playoffs last year. They scored when they needed to, and defended when they needed to. They'll be a problem for us this year. I hope Green Bay gets their QB back in a few weeks. It didn't look good.

Ehh the illegal formation penalties are a bit wild so far
Not saying the refs don't throw too many flags in general....it's just the paranoid whiners who think they throw too many flags AT US, while intentionally keeping the flag in their pockets against our opponents. Just hate the soft Victim Mentality

Yeah, they switched him from LT to RG. He's a humongous guard but he isn't able to play at a quality level at T in the NFL.

I was listening to the game on the radio and they said he and the tackle on that side were opening gaping holes for Barkley . I will say this the Jets have been garbage for so long that coaching staff should have switched him to G . The Eagles like it or not are a top tier team and they won’t put up with subpar effort or play . Becton probably turn into a solid G ,

It's first game and neither looked really good

Howie sought him out specifically because of his skillset, not whether or not he or Jacobs were technically higher on the RB hierarchy. And Saquon’s skillset in Kellen’s system showed why
LOL...I thought your post said "5 -foot RBs"... just now noticing that it said "5-TOOL RBs"

LOL yes I need glasses.
