Had the Dallas Cowboys drafted a quarterback, it would have been no sweat off Tony Romo's back. Cowboys VP Stephen Jones recalled a conversation he had with Romo before the draft.

"Everybody had a visit with him along the way," Jones said, via ESPN.com. "Jerry (Jones) included, myself included, and told him how this is his football team and how much we think of him and with all the rumors flying around not to pay attention to that.

"His response is, as you might expect from Tony -- it was: 'Well, if you decide to, it ain't going to matter; there's not anybody out there that can beat me out.'"

All the pieces are in place for Tony, I dont see any excuses to be made this year. The Jones boys said this is his team, ok then lead this team to the playoffs

Jones and Garrett scared to give the guy some true competition, meanwhile, Romo has the perfect attitude about it. "Bring it on bro, they ain't beating me out"

The defense has to be much better. If they are, then I agree. The 4th playoff appearance with Romo under center is long overdue.

If jerry and Co. Think weeden is a capable backup they are delusional at best. But maybe something good will come out of this if weeden has to play.. like being in position to draft Romo's replacement.

It is easy to have his attitude when he knows that he will never have a threat to his job.

I disagree. There are still alotta holes in this roster. I also have my doubts that rookies are going to have much impact this year. Most rookies don't .

Why would he? Anyone with a brain knew that we weren't drafting a qb in the first round, with all the money we have invested in tony.

When are these holes going to be filled? Cause Romo is 34 and the clock is ticking, at some point we gotta hold him accountable for the team's success

I have no problem holding Romo accountable, but when it comes to playoffs, the team is short on defense. When it comes to a timeline for the holes to be filled, it is anyone's guess. I don't agree with the team's approach to building a roster.

Not when you have one of the worst defenses in the history of the league.

Okay well you can hold onto that as a crutch. like I said with the clock ticking I'm looking to my 100 million dollar QB to lead the team, not some rookies on defense
