Okay well you can hold onto that as a crutch. like I said with the clock ticking I'm looking to my 100 million dollar QB to lead the team, not some rookies on defense

Then you're not being realistic. No QB can do it alone, but I'd hate to see us long-term without him.

Nobody ever does it alone in this sport, I'm just saying the time is now. He has but a 2-3 year window at the most of being an elite QB we gotta start seeing results and it starts with him. Yea I can see the excuse if the defense comes out giving 25 pts. a game, but I'm talking about the week 17's vs washingtons, we have to start seeing results. Cause no doubt in my mind this has all the makings of a season that will come down to the last 2 weeks.

the problem I have with your kind of fans, is you want to give Romo all the credit when we win. We only win x amount of games because of Romo according to some of you. But when we lose he never has any part in it, again according to some of you. Which one is it, is it oochie oochie wally or is it one mic?

Jones and Garrett scared to give the guy some true competition, meanwhile, Romo has the perfect attitude about it. "Bring it on bro, they ain't beating me out"

oooooh, they are scarrrrrreeeeeeeddd.....you have GOT to be kidding me with this...they made a football decision to draft needed guys/positions, especially since they have 3 QB's on the roster

people will always find a way to be negative

Romo is not an elite QB that can carry a team. Some of his late-game meltdowns have come from him trying to do too much. It is no secret that I am not a big Romo fan. I was for a long time until I realized that he has some holes in his game that prevents him from leading the team to the next level. It doesn't matter what he gets paid , because it has no effect on his ability to lead the team to the playoffs. He has to have a good deal of help to win games against good teams and the roster does not provide that help.

Trust me, I hear what you saying, but when I read the bolded and I look at Romo's contract something isn't adding up.

If jerry and Co. Think weeden is a capable backup they are delusional at best. But maybe something good will come out of this if weeden has to play.. like being in position to draft Romo's replacement.

What QB does succeed in Cleveland?

Tony wasn't sweating a QB being taken because he knew with 100% certainty that one would not be selected.

How is it negative to say that Romo has no competition for the starting QB job? It sounds like the truth to me. Well , it is the truth. The truth can be negative and sometimes it hurts. There shouldn't be a position on the team that doesn't have competition. It improves the level of play. There is no need in pretending that the other two QBs have any shot of ever starting unless injuries makes it possible.

It's awful easy to say it after the fact. In 9th grade I told all my friends I wasn't worried about fighting a kid, after i moved a town over.

I entirely agree with the thought of competition...I was referring to the comment that he was saying dallas was "scared" to give him competition..there is no reason for a comment like that...competition breeds success at all positions, including QB, but saying the team was scared is an exaggeration to say the least and smacks of negativity IMO

It's gonna be so funny in 2 or 3 years when Romo retires to see the Romo lovers stab a knife in His back when he walks out of the door with only 1 playoff win on his resume.

They'll move on to the next guy so fast with open arms and forget all about Romo. It's gonna be hilarious to see.

Uh, you have no idea what "kind of fan" I am if that's what you think.

Football is the ULTIMATE TEAM SPORT and the QB is NEVER solely responsible for a win or a loss. You will never hear me give Romo all the credit for a win because I understand how team sports work.

I also understand that when you have a good offense + a bad defense, chances are you're going to be an average team. What was our record the last 3 seasons again? Oh right, 24-24. Perfectly average.

It's one of the most elementary concepts in football but sadly, so many fans can't quite grasp it. The media focuses on the QBs because having recognizable faces boosts ratings/clicks/sales but these fans aren't smart enough to see past it.

The situations you are referring to goes back to the old "Romo chokes" debates that that ends up with fans saying that he chokes and others that say it isn't his fault. Good luck with that.

Uhh, every Cowboys fan, "Romo lover" or not, moves on to the next QB when the current one leaves. It's called rooting for the TEAM. Romo has always been a team guy and so are those that like him around here. We sure as heck aren't rooting for no more playoff wins so we can have a silly laugh in 3 years.
