Anyone that watched that interview can only draw one logical conclusion: Portis is a complete moron.

I'm a vegetarian. I'm not an animal rights 'activist' - it isn't my life's goal or work, nor am I active in any way in protecting animal rights, other than not eating meat. I do have obvious opinions on hunting and the ethics thereof.

That being said - I can easily see the difference in the two. That comparison was moronic on so many levels. The entire interview was. It was incredibly difficult to translate Moron into Legible English as I was recapping it.

Portis - Defends his comments by saying that there are bigger issues in the world than Vick doing what he does with his own property. Doesn't condone dog fighting,doesn't own pitts or fight pitts. States that it is unfair to go against him for something that isn't the biggest thing in the world.

So, Portis thinks that the only laws that should be enforced are murder, child abuse and those "biggest things in the world"??

Hey, Clinton, drugs aren't the "biggest thing in the world", either; do you think we should let all the dealers just do their thing??

Portis - If we don't take care of it this year, I think you're going to see a lot of people go and a lot of things unfold.

Starting with a certain Hall of Fame coach... then the REAL mayhem starts, as Joe Bugel, Al Saunders and Gregg Williams ALL think that they're in line to replace him... obviously two of them will wind up severely disappointed, perhaps even all three of them (watch Danny Boy make a run at Bill Cowher)...

And then, they blow the whole thing up and start over... yes, there will be blood in the streets next offseason if (more likely, when) the Skins fail to make the playoffs...

You can probably tell, I find that prospect quite depressing...

I basically got from this that an attorney or NFL/team official came to him and said look here - you need to backtrack FAST.

But even when he tried to backtrack, he's still defending Vick, and fighting dogs... "it isn't the biggest thing in the world... I don't think it's that serious"...

If Portis was trying to practice a little damage control, all he managed to do was dig himself a deeper hole... I always thought he was playing the fool when he gave those interviews in those outlandish costumes, but deep down, I thought he probably wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer (telling an interviewer that he told Sean Taylor that "man, we ain't did nothing" when asked about the offseason workouts)...

Now I know he's not playing the fool, he really IS one... I believe that he's not personally involved in dogfighting, but he's still showin' his *** with these comments...

I console myself with knowing that he's turning off businessmen who might have wanted to offer him assorted off-field opportunities... who's gonna want a card-carrying MORON to represent them??

I guess he can still be "The Punisher" on those gawdawful Eastern Motors commericials they show in the DC area (Sean Taylor and Lavar Arrington are two others who appear in them)... you have to see those commercials to believe how monumentally cheesy they are, they're every bit as bad as those Cal Worthington used car commercials Johnny Carson used to make fun of, or the Crazy Eddie electronics commercials... they're so bad, they're funny...

Hes an idiot on most of his comments,except the hunting.I think he is right about that,hunting is just as disgusting unless u have to feed a family with it,and these days that just isnt the case.

Sometimes it is, actually... I don't hunt myself, but I have friends who do, friends of lower middle class status, and they depend on daddy bringing home a buck each season to supplement the family food budget... indeed, some of those guys wait until the last day of deer season, when it's legal to take does, because their meat is more tender... these are the guys who have deer hunting down to a science, who start cruising back roads in September, looking for signs of deer, to make good and certain they'll find one on that last day...
