:lmao:really?
Why so upset?
It's a term about that goes across political and racial lines...a term about anyone who gets all bent out of shape for mentally anguished , and needs a wittle safe space, just due to dissenting views.

Again, why does that bother you?
Because it's a derogatory term meant to belittle those who have compassion. It's almost entirely used by internet tough guys.

I guess some use it for that. I see it just as I described it.
And one thing I am not is an "internet tough guy".

Well you sure acted like one by using that term. Hopefully it is a one off.

You'll have to forgive him. He likes to live in a place sane people don't venture...Nutsville.

*sigh* I need to stop. Sure it may be true, but I still need to show love to all.

Get thee behind me Satan!

Okay, I'm going to try not to mock and make fun of anyone now, no matter how absurd and insulting their comments are.

I think he and I see the term snowflake differently, that's all.
From the extreme reaction, I get the impression it's a sore point with him.

"Compassion" is an odd and selective term as well. Some only use it when it is compassion to a cause they care about.
I consider myself very compassionate--and especially toward those that seem less fortunate due to circumstance, etc.
But I don't need to cry and have a safe space if an outcome doesn't suit me or someone says something that I don't agree with.

Not worth arguing about though.
As for internet tough guys, I never got that either. I do know, fwiw, that I can't recall anyone, anywhere that I would or have would back down from (if cornered) in real life..assuming they are unarmed.

Honestly, it will be interesting to see how this works. I mean, unless you have some kind of proof, I would think that it would be very difficult to throw somebody out.

I played football in college. It's not hard to know who's shouting what.

If a player can hear it, they can find the source.

It's kind of like when you were a kid and you were secretly passing a note to Tiffany Bunnyboots but "somehow" your teacher saw it and made you read it in front of everyone.

When you're seated, the crowd around you looks fuller and it feels like you blend in. But that's not really the case.

From the field, people are still people until about the 15th row up or so. They don't turn into masses until after that.

Are you serious? There's no place in OUR country for such language, period.

I cannot tell who you are corresponding with as I have them on ignore but if anything my time over at punndits has taught me is that there are a lot more white supremacists that post here than I had imagined.

People that believe in segregation and slavery as being better than the change from them and no that is not hyperbole.

I think the NFL is concerned about players escalating things based on those insults. The Pryor incident may have given them thoughts of that basketball melee years back with players going in the stands and the NFL doesn't want to start suspending its stars which are always going to the be ones that fans go after. Who knows. Anything Goodell touches is likely to be a clusterF.

I just answered your question. The definitions of obscene or inciteful are necessarily broad. In practice, it'll be decided by the courts.

A good rule of thumb, though, is probably to just not behave like an idiot and nobody will kick you out of the stadium.
It is like the Playboy vs Penthouse argument when defining obscenity and pornography....... "You know it when you see it" is a good standard

Teams have every right to throw out fans using vulgar or abusive language without it being a slippery slope or Free Speech issue...... you know it when you hear it

true but how do you ban someone unless he is caught on video, otherwise, he can deny he said it, etc

not sure why the NFL wades into this morass, now some are calling for Newton to be suspended/fired for what he said to the female reporter yesterday (who ironically had to apologize for past comments on her twitter page,,,

I say then need to give a list of what can and cannot be said, because I know there are some on this board who hate basically all words, that are cuss words, others it is only racial words etc

Got to admit the drama zone is for the thick skinned......Slurs of any kind should not be permissible in a public place, rather simple. Hateful, and hurtful to receiver & sender.....including when the sender is heading to the dentist that night. Not good, just not good. Can't we all just get along.

They should......but IDing particular fans could be a challenge. Imagine sitting next to a fan openly yelling out the N word........scary

Washington receiver Terrelle Pryor said he repeatedly heard the N-word from a fan during Monday’s game against the Chiefs, and now the NFL says it is investigating.

NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart said the league is examining the matter and that fans could be banned from stadiums for using racial slurs.

“We are looking into all aspects of it and we will report back when we have concluded that review,” Lockhart said.
I think it may have been targeted at Marcus Peters who was guarding Pryor....... he was the only one to sit for the Anthem...... not saying it is right or defensible but I think Peters was "hella weak"

Anyone that uses hate speech should have all their assets forfeit (and deposited into my accounts), stripped of their US citizenship, and put on a plane for Somalia to live with the pirates.

I agree. I feel the same way about Kap and the folks that disrespect the flag.
