You think those two savvy football people would hire Garrett after this year, trading their now current coaches for Garrett???

esp. the Ravens

they'd probably hire the already failed HC, Cam Cameron, before they consider hiring Jason Garrett again

Lions take Garrett off of our hands.... Cowboys need an experience Offensive Cordinator, not an intern....

last year garrett worked pretty well. this year we hit a rough spot, yes. is it not just as insane to change leadership at every sign of adversity and never give continuity a chance? we knew when we hired garrett it was a long term plan. i was thankful to have a long term plan in place.

i don't want to see us knee jerk around and every time we don't get our way fans stomp their foot and get a new coach.

now, for garrett to be HC wade has to be fired, right?

there. there's your change. so it couldn't be "the same" under that scenario so that quote can't apply.

But you're still not getting it.

Garret worked pretty well last year because he had veteran coaching help. Sparano was here working with the game plans and play calling with him.

Now that Sparano is gone, his play calling is suspect. And before you harp on injuries and team personnel, let's not forget the fact that every NFL team has injuries and there are teams in the playoffs now that had more injuries than we had (the Ravens come to mind).

Most of the NFL insiders (Michael Lombardi and Floyd Reese said it this morning on NFL Network and ESPN) say that Garrett is in over his head. He's missing the experience of last years coaching staff and it shows in his game planning and play calling. It's no fluke most OC's go through years of working the coaching ranks and lower NFL coaching jobs before they get to where Garrett is now in his very short coaching career. He does not have the proper experience to run this offense . . . truthfully it was Jones fault he brought him in as a green coordinator and then throw super bowl expectations at him.

And if he's in over his head to be an Offensive Coordinator, what makes people think he will be a good head coach? "Seeing it through" has disaster written all over it. Are you willing to "see it through" for another 2-3 years while we have more 9-7, 8-8, 7-9 or even 6-10 mediocre to bad seasons with the talent on this team so Garrett can get his on the job training? Are you willing to "see it through" while the talent base gets older and erodes over the next 3 years to see if the child prodigy experiement will work (which never does when it comes to coaching experience in the NFL)? And are you willing to "see it though" another 2-3 year rebuild process after Garrett gets fired for not hacking it the talent base goes away?

The talent is here now, and the time is now. So you either get him some help (which I believe Garrett is not too keen on having someone hang over his shoulder) or you let him go and get the experience you need now. But since Jerry has painted this corner of keeping the staff and "continuity" then we are more than likely stuck with what we have.

it wasn't just Sparano

after times, when enough game-tape has been compiled, opposing defensive coordinators figure schemes out, and find OC's certain tendencies

the key then is for an OC to tweak his scheme

Garrett hardly did that, and only when it was too late

And that's stuff that you really learn after being in the business for a few years and understanding the game as an experienced head coach would.

Garrett does not have enough skins on the wall. Of course he could collect them here in his on the job training, but at the expense of the team?
