That's it in a nutshell. The cluster at the end of the first half (fumbled snap with Romo heaving a deep incomplete to Terrance Williams, stopping the clock, Bailey missing not one, but two kicks after getting a reprieve on the first miss due to a penalty), the Murray fumble and Hanna letting that ball slip through his fingers are the reason why they lost the game. It was all right there for them to win it.

I was sitting in the corner of the end zone where the Dez catch happened. Also had a great view of the Red Sea parting on the run that Murray fumbled on.

Wow, didn't know you were at the game. Very cool experience, even with the bitterness.

I have a hard time getting too worked up over the catch ruling. It's that fumble that killed them, along with the missed kick. Should have been 24-7 early third quarter. Instead, it was 14-13.

I have lived in the deep south for most of my life (either Texas, Louisiana, or Mississippi) and as you probably know, most people down here are very polite and really watch what they say and how they say it.

Well, while I was in college I dated a girl who was from NY and had pretty recently moved down here with her family. All of her brothers and sisters, as well as both her parents were pretty abrasive people if you didn't know them. They realized that their behavior was fairly caustic for down here, but that is how they were and said they couldn't change.

My GF's older brother always told me about what went on in NYC and how people would yell at each other and then just go on their way. He said that if someone got in your way in the street, people would just scream at them to "Get out the the way *** hole!" and then everyone would just go on their way.

Well, one day he was driving down a fairly busy street here and some country boy was walking across the street and the brother thought he was taking his sweet time. So, he yelled out the window, "Hurry up *** hole, we don't have all ******* day!"

The guy walked over to the brother's car and pulled him out of the car window and commenced to whooping his *** all up and down a busy road.

He didn't even have time to put the car in park because he never expected the guy to pull him out of the car. His mustang just drove right on without him, until it hit another car.

I lol'ed my butt off.

He ended up taking the guy to court.

So, he basically learned that, while it was ok up there to do that sort of thing... down here, they're fighting words. If you curse at another grown man and are rude as crap... you better be prepared to fight because it is a coin flip if the guy is going to smash your face or not.

Got a close friend from Chicago. Big Italian guy that moved here in high school.

He said his whole family thought people were making fun of them when they drove into the neighborhood. They were just waving "hi" as we do here. They thought we were a bunch of smart ***es.

About a year in, they realized we're just nice like that. Now, they wouldn't leave here for anything.

Here was the view from my seat location. It was the strangest thing that after the game, Packer fans came up to me unsolicited and extended a hand, said good game, and asked if I enjoyed Lambeau Field. To a person, they wished me well. Never seen anything like it before.

Packer fans are very classy.

You know who else is? Stinking Notre Dame fans. You can't hate them after you go there (not me, but several people I know). They said they are so incredibly accommodating and concerned that you enjoy your time there, when you leave you can't muster up any hatred for them anymore.

There's an incredible lesson in there.

Generally, Cowboys fans are pretty accommodating, too, but there are more and more dregs there each year. It's going the wrong direction.

The way Rodgers was picking the defense apart in the second half the Cowboys were far from putting the Packers away in the third quarter. Hard to maintain even a sizable lead with no pass rush vs an elite QB.

Yeah, that stupid loser Romo could not even sack a one legged Rodgers.

No. I never want to watch that game or see that play ever (and I know they will shove it in our faces many times this season, especially when we play the Packers.) That was, I think, the most devastating playoff loss I have ever experienced as a Cowboys fan (since 1968)....just because it seemed so unfair. I know, I know...some people here see it the way it was ruled. I don't. And speaking as someone who is being treated for depression, I never ever want to see that game again.

Well, we don't know if it was a "playoff loss" because even if Dez had been ruled right, the Cowboys still could have lost.

Dallas should've put GB away before the catch. Too many Missed opportunities.

That's what happens when the team does not have a defense. But, this years team will have one!

Some was offense too though. Had a chance to put up some points and they go 3 and out. Defense will be better this year though.

If any Cowboys fans were upset that we selected Byron Jones in the first round, watch this game and you"ll see why. Our corners were horrible. With that said, even though wr had horrid secondary play, Murray fumbled, and Bailey missed another FG, we shouldve still won that game. Hanna not recovering that onsides was the play that cost us the most imo.

Seriously? Look, I agree that Scandrick had a horrendous game, but Brandon Carr absolutely shut down Jordy Nelson.

My thoughts:

Defense completely stunk. vs Detroit before this one and vs GB. we let a one legged qb have his way with us.

I watched the game earlier this week and spent a lot of time reviewing it. A few random thoughts that occurred to me this time around:
  • Both Clay Matthews and Micah Hyde went the extra effort to injure Romo on various plays. Matthews was blatant about it, however, I thought the Hyde take-down was almost as bad
and our defense didn't so much as breath on A. Rodgers in retaliation.

  • The Dan Bailey missed FG at the end of the 1st half (and the Packers marching down with 30 seconds and kicking their own) was a big of a deal as the Murray Fumble. It's interesting that Dan Bailey has received almost no off-season venon here on CZ for the part he played in the Cowboys loss to Green Bay.
  • I think the playcall before that was the game. Going into the half if you run the ball there you give your kicker a better chance. instead going into the half up a couple possessions we miss it, GB goes in to the half with a score and momentum.
  • Its very much of a game of inches -- a number of the passes Rodgers completed where extraordinarily difficult passes, and he fit them into extremely small windows (the Richard Rodgers TE for example). I find it difficult to fault the secondary on a number of those. For the most part the pass rush wasn't there
  • pressure up front = 0
  • Yes it was a catch.
:hammer:
  • Lastly -- for the first time all season, the Packers were on the ropes at Lambeau and it felt to everybody watching and I'm sure to the players themselves that the Cowboys momentum was picking up and the Packers were going to lose. Ultimately, the Murray fumble was the turning point. From that point on, momentum swung the other way.

Again, I think momentum swung right before the half but coming into this season I think with an average defense we will strike fear in many hearts. I hope Hardy and Gregory can prove to make a difference up front because our d-backs are not all that bad and this offense is ready.

Sterling Moore played himself right off the roster that game. That rookie absolutely abused him. As a unit we could not get off the field on third down in the second half.

The Packers WR3 was as good as many team's WR2 and has WR1 type potential. Moore was at best a CB3 or CB4 and the Cowboys has no way to hide him.

This year the Cowboys CB3 is Byron Jones who has CB1 potential. This isn't a mismatch anymore.

I watched the game earlier this week and spent a lot of time reviewing it. A few random thoughts that occurred to me this time around:
  • When Cobb fumbled the kick return in the 2nd half, had the Cowboys recovered it the game probably would have been over. Watching it I would have guessed the Cowboys had a 90% of coming up with it. It's very surprising Quarless came up with it at the bottom of the pile. I'd love to see what exactly happened in that pile.
  • When Romo threw the ball he was magnificent. Downside is he didn't throw it that much.
  • Other than the fumble, Murray was a stud.
  • Both Clay Matthews and Micah Hyde went the extra effort to injure Romo on various plays. Matthews was blatant about it, however, I thought the Hyde take-down was almost as bad
  • This game is example #1 of why Scandrick isn't a top 10 CB (as many seem to think on this board). He was responsible for Cobb almost all game and he just wasn't athletic enough to cover Cobb. Scandrick was constantly trailing Cobb despite his best efforts to keep close to him
  • Frederick dominated the Packer defenders across from him in both pass and run blocking
  • It was clear the Packers viewed Leary as the weakest link -- they keep lining up their pass rushers directly across from him. In particular Leary had problems with Peppers
  • Nick Hayden was on the field way too much
  • The Dan Bailey missed FG at the end of the 1st half (and the Packers marching down with 30 seconds and kicking their own) was a big of a deal as the Murray Fumble. It's interesting that Dan Bailey has received almost no off-season venon here on CZ for the part he played in the Cowboys loss to Green Bay.
  • Church was the only defender able to consistently bring Lacey down and it often did it by himself
  • Davonte Adams looked like a playground bully taking candy from kids on many of his catches. He literally threw Moore to the ground on one key play
  • Its very much of a game of inches -- a number of the passes Rodgers completed where extraordinarily difficult passes, and he fit them into extremely small windows (the Richard Rodgers TE for example). I find it difficult to fault the secondary on a number of those. For the most part the pass rush wasn't there
  • If Carr can play as well as he did against Jordy Nelson (and Megatron) this coming season, he'll almost be worth what he is being paid.
  • Yes it was a catch.
  • Lastly -- for the first time all season, the Packers were on the ropes at Lambeau and it felt to everybody watching and I'm sure to the players themselves that the Cowboys momentum was picking up and the Packers were going to lose. A few........?
