NFLN Top 10 - One shot wonders... 3 'boys were selected

I think it goes:

Nate: "Thats how we play Larry with confidence."
Deion: "If you get another your going to run for mayor, you have to promise to give me a job before I vote for you."

something like that I think, I watched it too, but started falling asleep
Ha! Thanks for the assist. That was about the time I was fading...

I agree though, Larry shouldn't have been on that list. He was very solid for us over the years. And its not his fault the Raiders are ignorant, but he got some good money out of it so I'm sure he doesn't mind.

It was also sad because it was really the tail end of Paul Brown era. He was so innovative and changed the NFL.

I rank Paul Brown as the greatest HC of all-time followed by Landry.

He had a big game and got a fat contract, but never lived up to his contract. Plus he went on to play for the Commanders. :bang2:

oh hell - there has to be more to "one shot wonders" than this or how many would fall into this category?

I don't agree with Larry Brown. He was never great, but he was solid for the Boys during their three SB victories. He had that one shining moment in the SB against Pittsburgh that made the Raiders over pay to get him, but in the previous 4 seasons he played well for Dallas.

kinda puts the effect a pass-rush has on a CB into context doesnt' it?

To be honest, I'm not convinced the pass rush had a big impact on those O'Donnell throws.

They didn't. When looking at film, they claimed it had to be a miscommunication error between the receiver and O'Donnell. He threw it right to him both times. And when I looked at it last night, he didn't look like he had to rush the throw.

Icky Woods, that's awesome! His name just came to mind a few days ago after hearing the new White Stripes song "Icky Thump". He was a fun, shortlived edition to this league while it lasted it.
