Every contract affects the cap. The cap is $182M/yr that can be spread across 53 players. That means that if distributed evenly, each player can receive about $3.4M/yr.

When a superstar wants $20M/yr, that means that several players that would be making $3M/yr are going to get replaced with guys making the league minimum (about $700k for 2 year vet).

As I said, that is taking food out of the mouths of mid-level guys, not the owners.
No use talking to that one.

It is a nice story but it isn't really true.

We replaced mid level guys ... with other mid level guys. Who did we lose this off season? Beasley? Replaced him with Cobb at 4.5 mill.

Were exactly are these mid-level guys that have gone missing?

NFLPA looking into Cowboys’ direct dealing with players

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ing-into-cowboys-direct-dealing-with-players/

On Wednesday, NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo pointed out a dynamic that the Dallas Cowboys haven’t tried all that hard to hide: Their propensity for cutting out the middleman and dealing directly with players who are represented by agents.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL Players Association views the situation as “not good,” and currently is doing its due diligence before taking any official action and/or issuing any formal statement.
Not shocking...Stephen Jones is on video saying he contacted Demarcus Lawrence directly to get the deal done. Jerry stated that they met face to face for the Jaylon Smith deal.

Notice Rocky Arceneaux and Faulk has Elliott out of the country away from Jerry and Stephen.

So, the NFLPA needs to do what they are going to do.

Shhh....leave him be in his fantasy land. It’s his happy place.
It’s simply not true. I’ve heard fans spill this false narrative before. Jerry words below.

"Between 1992 and 1993, when we won the first Super Bowl, we had 17 new players before there was a salary cap," Jones said. "Had we not made the changes on Casillas and Jimmie Jones, Chad Hennings would still not be on the football field. That's not a negative result with those guys moving on. " Jones says that's just one example. While many would disagree, Jones said it also was healthy for Robert Jones to replace Norton and Shante Carver to step in for Jeffcoat.

"I've always heard from people who have a lot more experience than I have that when you get good teams they basically become an older team. You're reluctant to change. You ride that horse all the way into the ground," Jones said. "But under this system, it forces us to inject younger players into the mix. That could be very healthy for us. "

Let’s hope they suspend our idiot owners who think they’re bigger than the league.

Think there is any connection between this "investigation" and Booger being the owners' point man in the CBA negotiation? Everything is a potential weapon and this could get downright nasty because the NFLPA has been less than effective with regards to money.

.....if its about money then the NFL wants to intervene. I wonder if agents are somehow linked to giving NFL a percentage? Boy, ..its getting ugly now. So long, Zeke have a good one.

That kind of seems like a dumb rule doesn’t it?
...to the "Snake" Owners it would be...….especially when a guy gets cut/released at the drop of a dime & routinely, while still under contract. Happens every year.
