Ironic most of the time the coaches get after the players about going to hard in these OTA, they don't want their skilled players being hit but players get competitive and get carried away. In Lee case it was a freak accident but having the players union look into it well they need to talk to their members about easing up in these workout. lol

Dallas isn't doing anything that the other 31 teams are not doing.
Lee's knee was damaged before Martin even touched him.

Even if his knee looked like it buckled before Martin got there, Martin still came in at a full sprint and buried him into the ground.. and that's what the NFLPA is going to look at.

http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4728629/nflpa-monitoring-sean-lee-play

I don't know if this is news worthy to deserve it's own thread. I know there are a lot of other Sean Lee threads. I just don't know if it's been pointed out in other threads.

Basically the NFLPA is monitoring the video of the Lee injury to see if the Cowboys are operating under safe conditions. The practice is supposed to be non-contact so no "one-on-one offense vs defense drills are permitted." To be honest, I don't know exactly what all this non-contact practice means. How do you have practice without running drills? A lot of people get hurt during these practices so it's confusing. Anyway, here is the text:

IRVING, Texas -- NFL Players Association officials haven't requested a copy of the practice tape from Tuesday's organized team activities involving the Dallas Cowboys, however they are monitoring the injury suffered by middle linebacker Sean Lee from their Washington D.C. offices like they do with all injuries that occur.
Look.......

Like I said yesterday in another thread, giving red the trainee yet another pass is a complete and utter disservice the the fans of the Dallas Cowboys. His incompetence continues to show itself because it has no other choice. It's the large pink elephant in the room... I am willing to bet money that Garrett did not clearly specify practice variables before they took the field. How else does your cerebral first round draft pick go full tilt into your MLB (aka defensive field general) as if his brain was equivalent to that of a deer?

I'm sooooo looking forward to seeing him get outcoached on at least 4 occasions yet again this year... not..

Jerry allowing contact during OTAs is unacceptable. I think the owners should meet and strip the team away from him.

Literally don't care what the excuse for him losing the team, but just make it happen.

I think Cowboys make playoffs in 2017

If you can get some plutonium for the DeLorean, we can go see if your belief has validity. But if we go to 2017 will we age? Will Ms. Busty look at me differently? Will Jerra still be with us when we return to 2014. Will Lee still be brittle by 2017. So manys questions, maybe we should just sell the plutonium and not tamper with g o d's domain.

They should put two pink flags on them and then if the D can't pull those flags off, they just have to tap on the toushy so the offensive guy will be down at that spot.

Seriously, this is football. There's always going (and should be) to be contact.

And injuries.

Of course, of all the teams to go after and make an example of, why not the Cowboys?

The guy was just making a joke about it because he wants Jerry gone. He wasn't actually blaming the injury on Jerry.
Eh, possibly. Hard to tell around here sometimes lol

Like I said, I would bet money that a portion of the responsibility for this happening rests on the shoulders of the coaching staff. Proper preparation breeds success. Lack of proper preparation breeds mediocrity. Lee's "freak" injury is yet another example.

What? This is garretts fault? It was not full tilt practice. Once the knee gave way Lee went down before any contact and no Martin did not bury him. I guess Garrett and the coaches could just let players sit around and do nothing all summer and into training camp because frankly that is the only way players will avoid injury by doing nothing.

Lee leans into Martin on the play as Martin explodes and blows up Seans knee. Sean Lee never seen it coming. Everyone needs to watch the Video closer, the Players Union will be and you can't blame them.

Knowing Lee he provoked Martin.

I don't care what anyone says the proof is in the film. That was a brutal play and it appeared to be a cheap shot.

Seen the play nothing cheap about it. Lee planted trying to cut and the knee gave way, he was going down before Martin got to him.
