You make provocative claims, so I check them out. They don't hold water. Oh well.

Nothing I say holds water with you because all you want to do is argue. You only check things out that fit your agenda. I don't have time to waste with posters like you. I've posted plenty of stats over the years to back up my position on this topic and if you don't agree move on.

You have 40 completions on 30 attempts there.

Impossible to have a 100+ rating with more int than td, unless your ypa is through the roof.
Whoops. Well, how about 23/30/300/3/4? That's 101.4, with a 10.0 ypa (high, but not that rare).

But your point is well taken. It's happened 3 times since 1960:

11/6/77, Jim Hart: 10/14/143/2/3/104.2
9/16/84, Ken Anderson: 16/22/316/2/4/105.5
10/1/89, Phil Simms: 14/19/211/2/3/105.3

Romo has had several games over his career where he had a higher passer rating than the opposing QB but still lost. In Romo's 7 elimination games his TD to turnover ratio is 8-12. The only elimination game he won his TD to turnover ratio was 2-0 which was better than the opposing quarterback. His playoff win over Philly in 09 is the only elimination game he's played where he had a positive TD to turnover ratio.

Here we go again with this horse crap.

There for awhile it was also spotlight games, or big games on national TV.
I guess the last three in a row...which were certainly national "spotlight" games...don't count.

Those 10 TDs and 0 ints kind of screw that up for you.

I should be saying that to you. Where did I say the last 3 in a row didn't count as "spotlight" games? Dude I have posts on the board including the game chats the past 3 weeks giving Romo credit for those last 3 games where have you been? Someone even asked me after the Cowboys beat the Giants in the final 3 minutes if I considered that game a "spotlight" game and I said yes. I've grown tired and have wasted far too much time with posters like you whose agenda is to spin that I don't like or support Romo. If you continue coming at me the way you just did you'll be wasting your time responding to anything I have to say because you'll be removed from my discussion list. No one other than Cowboy FANs are going to care about Romo's 114.4 regular season passer rating if he puts up a 63.2 passer rating in the playoffs and the Cowboys lose.

If he doesn't play to the same high level in the playoffs that we've seen consistently throughout the regular season this year he will continue carrying the stigma he has. His passer ratings aren't going to change how people view him outside Cowboys Nation. He has to improve his playoff record and win a SB to help change the perception many have of him. FANS like you may not like it but like all QB's he's being judged by how he performs in playoff/elimination games. Everyone knows how good he is during the regular season and how statistically good he is but his playoff/elimination game stats have been dismal. His elimination game passer rating doesn't add up to his regular season passer rating. What I'm giving you are FACTS!

Well... as long as he has more TD's than INT's you'll be happy right? :p

You are the one that has most known for this "elimination game" and "spot light game" horse crap...not me.

Oh, and by the way, you were wrong about him only 1 game where his TD to turnover ratio was positive in your hand-selected gamed.. you don't even have to go past his 4 playoff games to find two (Seattle and Philly).

I've always said Romo was good but never been one to go overboard. I just defend him when silly junk enters the conversation or if there are personal attacks (not in this case).

I jump in when nonsense like you routinely have spewed over the years comes up....and I have many times said you are actually more level headed about Romo that the true haters out there like that idiot ufc and some others.
It's just this elimination game/spotlight stuff that's beyond silly....imo
Tiny sample size for playoff games, so you guys dream up junk to make him look worse than he is.

Anyway and really beside the point....has it ever crossed anyone's mind that in the playoffs the competition is far greater on average, and so by default, QB ratings would be lower except on a few occasions? A guy may get hot (Flacco a couple of years ago)--and given enough opportunites the odds increase that he will--but usually QB ratings are lower.

Romo's sample size of 4 playoff games (4 TDs and 2 ints...80 QB rating) ...but no appearances in 5 years, so borderline irrelevant as it was so long ago....is just too small.
But I would bet the farm that he will not have a 114 QB rating in the playoffs....and Rodgers won't have a 111 either.

I would be happy because the odds on the Cowboys winning are real good when Romo has more TD's than turnovers. He's only lost one playoff/elimination game when he had more TD's than turnovers and that was vs Seattle in 06 but he had a bobbled snap on a FG attempt that was more damaging than any turnover he's ever had.

I won't be wasting much more time with you if you make anymore attempts to spin/insinuate I don't like or support Romo as the Cowboys QB. The day I stop supporting him as the Cowboys QB you'll here it directly from me. I've had enough of the agenda crowd trying spin I'm a Romo hater simply because I give honest, unbiased opinions of his game. I give all the good and all the bad and if you or anyone else has a problem with that don't read my posts because yours will go unread if you give me anymore crap. You're one of those who seems to take offense at every opinion I have because you have an agenda. Instead of coming around every time you see an opportunity to stir the pot go dig up some stats that prove me wrong. Romo's been an excellent QB for the Cowboys ever since he took over as the starter and the team wouldn't be where they're at without him but he's had some issues in do or die games that's created a stigma...FACT! Romo had a positive TD to turnover ratio vs Seattle in 06 but had 2 fumbles none weren't lost but one was a bobbled snap on a FG attempt that was more damaging than any turnover he's ever had. The only thing anyone remembers about that Seattle playoff game was Romo's bobbled snap. It's been the signature play of his career thus far and the only way the media or NFL fans will move past it and all the other ill-timed mistakes he's made in critical games is for him to improve his playoff/elimination game record and win a SB...FACT!

The only reason I ever started the "elimination game" debate here was because someone complained that Romo's playoff resume was small so I added his season finale elimination game losses which are exactly like playoff games and It infuriated a lot of FANS. Many accused me of doing it to make Romo's playoff record look worse which is ridiculous! It's all part of the agenda I've been dealing with here. The only reason "elimination games" and Tony Romo are so closely associated with each other is because no other NFL QB has played in more season finale elimination games than he has since 06. If his playoff resume wasn't so small and the Cowboys hadn't missed the playoffs in 5 of Romo's 8 years as the starter there would be no need to add his 3 season finale elimination games to his record. Romo has to take some of the blame for the Cowboys missing the playoffs 4 straight years because he's the QB of the team. If anyone puts some of the blame on him the agenda crowd spins that all the blame is being put on him which is BS! Regardless of how many times I've praised Romo for his great play I have FANS like you trying to spin I hate him and I'm fed up with it because it's clearly an agenda. They never point out all the positives I post about Romo because it doesn't fit with their agenda.

Regardless that "playoff/elimination" games are tougher than regular season games there's no excuse for an 8-12 TD to turnover ratio which has been greatly responsible for Romo's 1-6 elimination game record. The #1 stat that decides more games is turnovers. It's no coincidence that the only playoff/elimination game Romo has won he didn't commit any turnovers. His TD to turnover ratio vs Philly in the 09 playoffs was 2-0. The opposing QB's McNabb and Vick combined for a 2-3 TD to turnover ratio. Romo doesn't need a 114.0 passer rating in the playoffs but a 55.9 passer rating with a TD to turnover ratio of 2-3 which is what he had in his last elimination game performance vs Washington in 2012 (season worst) isn't going to get it done. When a QB has the 3rd highest regular season passer rating in NFL history and has only 2 playoff/elimination games in 7 starts where their passer rating is comparable to what they've averaged during an 8 year starting career during the regular season it's going to create a negative perception of their ability to handle pressure in do or die games. When that QB has 12 turnovers in 7 career playoff/elimination games with only one win it's going to create a stigma regardless of how well they play during the regular season or how high their passer rating is. This isn't hating on Tony Romo it's providing FACTS!

Didn't say you were a Romo hater and never have.

And it's fine with me if you don't write a dissertation on the topic in response to the fact that I find your "elimination game/spotlight game" stuff silly.

We actually tend to agree on most other topics around here.

Your comments have insinuated that I dislike Romo and have an agenda to point out just the bad with him which is not true. Before you or anyone else tries to spin or insinuate that all the good Romo does ruins some Tony Romo agenda I have you better research my posts first.
