OScan is already a blue chip player IMO. Cut it out with this "on the rise" nonsense because he's been a damn good CB for a solid 2 years now.

IMO, a blue chip player is a top 10 talent at his position. I don't think Scandrick is that but he's a solid corner.

I find it odd that the mods will block a thread if the think it has veered even slightly off topic (ex. Hardy legal) but won't do the same when a thread title provides false information.

I mean, seriously, fix the title or end the thread.

No big deal

Fair enough, but I'm sure there are many on the Zone who would argue that Scandrick is a top 10 corner. I think he's close to that.

I can't call him top 10 corner when he rarely defends the opposing teams #1 receiver. When it was time to guard a #1 receiver it was Brandon Carr who was doing it. Scandrick would at times but this team seems to have more confidence in Carr on bigger #1's than they do Scandrick.

Oscan is by far our best defensive player. **** stats, you watch him play, and see him take his man out the game, and is always usually where he is supposed to be.

We don't have enough consistent players on D

T Will should be in the Blue Chip list.

Read the article. Best rosters excluding the quarterbacks. To see how much talent teams have outside the qb position.

Sorry Bucky, but not considering Tony Romo a blue chip means you are no more than biased.

It does make sense. Because if you include qbs, then its just a copy/paste list of the best qbs in the league.

Lol no it doesn't. Its a copy and paste of the best teams in the league. Without a QB it almost never matters how good the rest of your roster is. Cowboy fans should know this girst hand since Romo has been a top 5-10 QB at minimum most of his career, but the horrible rosters around him has kept the team from being real contenders. Rodgers, who most agree is the top QB in the league has won 1 SB and it was a 5 years ago. Peyton Manning is a top 5 all time QB but has 1 SB in his career. Brady hadn't won one in a decade. It takes a complete team and ranking teams without QBs is just as asinine as ranking them on QBs only.

He didn't say that. The title to the thread is wrong.
He loves Romo.
This list was for entire rosters excluding QBs

Put it this way.
Put Romo on the Jets or Bills and they for sure are contenders.

Like the article says...both teams have really strong rosters except at the by the most important position.

In a QB driven league they're rating the talent level of teams without taking the QBs into account.

Makes sense to me.
Leave out one of the, if not the, most important player on a team. Way to skew the results.

It's like rating spaghetti without the sauce

I think it is a good way to rank/review the teams. If the QB is included the QB dominates where the team is ranked. If the QB is included, he could spend countless hours reviewing the other 52 players on each roster and it really wouldn't matter because the ranking of the QB is going to correlate directly with the ranking of the team regardless of the surrounding players.

A great defense or terrible defense is probably only going to move Green Bay up or down by 1 spot.

...and the implied reason for that kind of exclusion is?

apparently expecting you to read the first frigging paragraph is just out of the question

-------------------------------
The recent emphasis on the quarterback position has led many to believe the presence of a franchise signal-caller is the only thing that matters when it comes to building a championship team in today's game. While it certainly is easier to make a run at the brass ring with one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks on your roster, the overwhelming majority of championship teams feature lineups that are chock-full of blue-chip players who don't play the game's most important position.
