Homer: (20 beers in) "You know what? I've got a great idea! We're undefeated, this is our best start to a season in 20 years, chemistry is great, all the lines are gelling..

LETS CHANGE EVERYTHING!"

:bang2:

Hopefully now that Jagr got off the snide things will go a little more smoothly.

Nothing wrong with getting a beatdown from the Caps right now, but that loss to the Blues was pretty bad.

Get well, Pronger. That was scary. I thought I saw a man lose his eye.

Everyone around here is "Sabres nuts".

They were thrilled with their recent road trip where beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh for the few time in a couple of years.

Stomped by Montreal.

This team is in a serious funk or just isn't very good. Maybe they're too young to compete this year.

We were due to win, had been winless in six.

I think one thing that hasn't gotten enough media attention is that the rule changes implemented after the great lockout of '04-'05 have dramatically improved the game. Back in the old days, it really wasn't all the uncommon to have a 3 hour, 45 minute ordeal every one in a while.

And I mean 3:45 of regulation play. Not, like, a game that went into overtime.

I guess ultimately not a whole heck of a lot of people care since it is hockey. But baseball would do very well for themselves to look at making some similar changes.

I don't know if they were that long, there were many games about 3 hours, some a bit longer but never close to four hours unless there was a good bench clearing brawl which haven't really occurred in 20 years.

Hockey started? I think the NHL needs to take out ads informing hockey fans worldwide (all 6 of them).;)

I've never seen a team so wreckless with their sticks for the entire freaking game. It was ridiculous. I used to love Lupul, but i loved when after his like 3rd stick to the face of Bobrovsky that game, Hartnell just came up and straight up punched him in the face. Might as well if the refs arn't going to do anything, it was ridiculous.

Its exactlly like i said. The Flyers readjusted every line on the team to try and make room for Schenn, who isn't very good anyway. They've looked lost since then.

Someone explain to me why, after an undefeated 5 games and your best start in 20 years you would screw with team and line chemistry and change every single line just to try and make room for one guy?

Makes no sense, and yet after every game i have to hear Lavy and Homer act like this team just hasn't found their chemistry yet.

YEA, UHHH... THEY HAD IT YOU GOONS! YOU HAD TO F WITH IT JUST TO FIT ONE GUY INTO THE LINEUP.

I used to love Homer, but lately, i have no idea what the hell he's trying to do. You get rid of a 25 year old superstar in Richards who works hard and plays hard every night for you, sign a 32 year old goalie to a 9 year deal when you already have a budding superstar who's 22 and played very well last year, and get rid of your 26 year old best PK'er and hits leader and great energy guy in Powe, but keep Nodl and Shelley who are basically useless on the ice. Then you send down Harry Z and Rinaldo who were fitting in very well to fit Shelley and Nodl into the lineup. Nothing they have done lately has made any sense. Im not suprised they've been losing after this bs. I hope most fans are as pissed as me because this is just stupid.

wow, we hockey fans have slacked off mightily.....

well let's get this thread going again. Calling all hockey fans out there.....

My Pens are playing out of their minds right now. I hope they can catch the Rangers, but it will be hard. The Rangers have basically a gimme game tonight against the Islanders.

I would like to see one change to the NHL playoff seedings. I would like to see the league adopt the rule the NBA adopted. Give the 3 division winners at least a top 4 seed, but a second place team in a division has a chance to be as high as a #2 seed. If the NHL had the rule already, the Penguins would be the 2 seed instead of the 4 seed right now. The same would currently happen in the Western Conference...where the current 4 seed would be the 2 seed.

fella, i have already told you my high school.....i have already told you my favorite NBA team.....and i have consistantly expressed my love and homerism for my native city. pretty much every poster in here knows i am from San Antonio...

I have been a Pens fan since the 80s.....first hockey game I ever saw was the Pens...I dont remember the score, the opponent, or who won....just that Mario was awesome......and I have always liked Penguins, so they instantly became my favorite team. They are the only non Texas team that is my favorite......Spurs, Cowboys, Astros, Penguins, Longhorns, Islanders (NOT NHL)

My Caps have gone from their 10-0 start to barely having a shot at the playoffs. Being a Caps fan isn't' all that much different from being a Cowboys fan....unfortunately.

what a crappy way to end the game today.....less than 2 seconds from a shootout and the flyers score the winning goal....that is unacceptable defense by the Pens.....

At least we got a point even with the loss. Now we are only 1 point behind the Rangers, but the Flyers are now only 2 points behind us.....it is going to be one wild ride down the stretch.....

Biggems, I know you don't wanna hear this today, but that was an exciting game. I thought for sure Crosby was going to end it when he broke away on that one rush and got seperation. I think he knew he should have ended it too. We'll see you guys again on NBC before the season ends which is cool.

i was very exciting......i am mad at our puck control in the closing moments of OT. We had the puck and all we had to do was hold it for a few more seconds.....instead we slapped it back into the Philly zone, and then they got the game winning rush.....

i am just glad we got 1 point out of the debacle. Now, if only the Rangers would keep losing, but no.....they had to win last night.

My Rangers are having a good year thus far.

yes they are, and they are frustrating me. the Pens have had their opportunities to take control of the division and conference, but have failed to do so. the rangers keep stepping up just enough to hold the top spot......it is a 1 point difference right now....what a final month of the season we are going to have.
