Nope. If he is too scared of TV duribng preseason, what will he do in the regualr season?

What has he shown, other than he is not as good as Thompson on kick returns? He can;t play receiver, contributes nothing else on special teams. Are we going to cut the likes of Rector or Hurd to keep him?

I'd Like to think that he got it our of his system by the end of the game when he made that nice PR for the 20 yards. He totally juked the first guy to come at him and that was a decisive move.

Let's see how he's done next game now that he's got two games under his belt.

Of course he doesn't have Thompson's speed, but few do. He definitely has surer hands than Thompson. No real muffs as of yet.

wow dick -- you just refuse to even acknowledge the data that suggests Green is doing very well with his returns.

Well played! Ignorant Beach is on the horizon! Stay the course!

On Skyler,
I didn't say I 'want him' to be cut.
But I predict he will be cut.
I think Bill will look at the film and see that he looks average.
I don't care what the stats say, I have watched him play and, to me, he does not look quite quick enough or nearly fast enough to keep as a PR since he apparently isn't going to contribute at WR.
We already need to keep a kicking specialist as an extra player.

You need to listen to the press conferences more it has already been stated Vandy will handle kicking duties. He is supposed to do it against SF. That leaves Suisham on PS and can be called up at anytime if we need him to play.

I gotta find me a player I can irrationally despise.

Watch your back Miles Austin.

I don't have a horse in this race, but statistics garnered from two preseason games are not a reliable indicator of much. 'Course that cuts both ways. Green is definitely green as a WR. Rector has had a good camp and is coming on. I personally think Copper gets the axe and the Cowboys keep 6.

The 'Boys may have to decide between good punt returns or good kickoffs though. Certainly, Copper or Rector will be on other teams this season if we cut them. If we're really unlucky, it will be Washington or Philly.

That's correct -- however they do speak to what you can reasonably expect from a punt returner - some folks here think that if a guy doesn't break a few big ones every game then he sucks -- and that just isn't how you evaluate PRs.

I think that is the reason he is out on PR all the time. They are trying to get a handle on his worth. Given the defense's quality, we may see a lot of punt returns this season, making it a more important component. And no team likes to cut 4th round picks if they can help it, deserved or not. Parcells might even be willing to accept shorter KOs as well....

Still, if the team carries just 5 recievers, probably only 4 will be active on game day, and an injury puts Green in as the replacement on 3 WR sets.

Even if the Cowboys carry 6 WRs, a good player is going to get cut.

One thing Aberson has taught me is that BP almost always requires that the 5th (or if he takes 6, the 6th) WR MUST be able to contribute on special teams.

I don't know what else some of you need to see to know that right now there IS NO WAY Skyler Green gets cut. 0%. Nobody else on the roster has so much as stood back there to receive a punt. Who else is gonna do it?

Crayton?? We know what he has... not much. He was about as pedestrian as you get as a PR. Rarely electric. Green was drafted in the 4th for the specific purpose of replacing him. And he's taken all the PR so far.

Newman? Sometimes maybe, but he's not going to be the full time guy.

Now can this change? Maybe, but it's unlikely. Crayton may not play a preseason game, and right now he looks like the only other guy that can do the job full time. They may try their hand with Rector, Copper, etc. But I guarantee those guys would show none of the moves Green has shown in a mere two games.

You guys who are making the case for Green... it's simple... Who else is going to do it. Right now there is no indication that anyone else even has a chance at the full time job, so how can you be so confident Green is being cut. You're ignoring the evidence because you "haven't seen anything." It's preposterous.
