:hammer: ....Honestly the fact Jerry has to have his face in front of a microphone on a weekly basis....ought to tell you something about his ego. Huge narcissist....and it's only gotten worse with social media. Now....he's spinning out of control....and it wouldn't shock me if he ends up on this message board trying to defend his wrack job comments. I saw this train wreck coming....and I can even prove it.

:hammer:“ the fact that he has to have his face in front of a microphone “ …. You are 100 % correct .

Woody Johnson Jeff Lurie the Ford Heiress Art Rooney etc etc etc none of these owners or the other ones need ego stroke . This Cowboy team buy was a midlife crisis man buy that’s now stretched into retirement home absurdity .

Listened to Nick's new podcast this morning. First and last time.

He spent his time apologizing for the Jones and claimed "free agency never works"

He's also super catty to the callers.

Hard pass on Eatman.
He's always been a company man...Sounds like Jerry is pressing his front men ro take some of the heat away.

Sadly, those guys will be forced to apologize to Jerry for their insolence.

Money always wins over principle in the corporate world
Nah...there are other jobs in the world. I would hold my ground and tell Jerry to go suck a bag of d*cks.

I get the free agency never works argument. But I do not think it is completely correct. It is true, you pay a premium to sign a top tier free agent and more than likely that player will not meet the ridiculous expectations placed on him by his contract. But this does not apply just to free agents. It also applies to your own players you sign or extend. Is Dak playing like he is worth $60 million? What would Dak have to do to be worth $60 million? Whatever it is I will argue Dak will never achieve it. I would make the same argument about CeeDee.

But look at Derrick Henry? Does anyone doubt he is worth what they are paying him?
Exactly. The Cowboys, at times, overvalue their own talent, so what's the difference between doing it in-house and in free agency?

Can somebody actually link the nick eatman piece? If there is one
I think that's him talking. The original title of the YouTube video had Nick Eatman in it and then when I pasted it here for some reason it changed.

Anyone who makes excuses for what Jerry did is a puppet.

People focused on the threat part but also galling is Jerry demeaning these guys as essentially being football dumb and it's beneath him to have to answer questions from them because they don't know football like he does. What the hell is that?

I do not particularly like Stephen A Smith but he made a great point. Jerry questioning anyone's football intellect when over the last 28 years he's had 7 different HCs and only 5 playoff wins is laughable.

Jerry is an arrogant, selfish putz. He's getting murdered by the local media, the fans and the national media. But it won't change a thing. He'll double and triple down on this. And if the Cowboys win the next game, he's going to prance around like a peacock thinking it proves him right and everyone else is wrong.

And let's be clear from a football perspective. You think we were cheap this offseason? Jerry is gonna be even cheaper next year. Because when you question him or his strategy, he gets defensive and doubles and triples down on it. We are screwed as a fanbase.

PS - Saying FA doesn't work like Eatman claimed is ********. Hey, Nick, you *** kisser, when has ignoring FA altogether and just building through the draft ever worked?

Dale Hansen pretty much a clown held down Babe Laughenberg chair he was Brad Shams radio sidekick before Babe. He called Jerry a liar on one of the games and sure as October has brought cooler weather , Jerry had Dale FIRED . Hanson was also the sports announcer locally on one of the Dallas TV local affiliates ( ABC ) so doing Cowboy games was a side gig .

With these 2 sports jocks on radio at 105.3 I suspect a firing means their next gig is possibly the Toledo market . Good for them for putting Jerry on the hot seat .
Ron, I agree with the sentiment of your post. But the sequence was Brad Sham called Jerry a liar and was summarily fired. Brad went on to call baseball games for the Rangers. He claimed that was his life long desire. If that was the case, he could have had that job at any time.

Dale, being the primping donkey that he was and is, got himself ushered out at the end of that season. Brad was returned, presumably he kissed the ring of Jerry, and has been here ever since.

I believe the issue was based on Barry Switzer, and Dale Hansen's being intimidated by Switzer that caused the initial hullabaloo.

How long would you keep your job if Jerry Jones signed your checks? Not long, I suspect. :muttley:

Shan Shariff is the definition of a sell out. Hes a Commanders fan moonlighting as a cowboys fan for pay.
I had absolutely no idea this guy was from Maryland. But don’t get it twisted. I’m from MD - there are loads of Cowboys fans from the DMV.

I’m almost certain you’re wrong . Hansen after making the liar statement was gone . Sham at the time had always wanted to give baseball a try but kept the Cowboys gig . He lasted one yr in baseball , too many road trips too many games my guess

I looked it up . Hanson was fired in 1996 when he said Jones wasn’t telling the truth over a Leon Lett Drug suspension and also had a bad working relationship with coach Switzer.

Point being Jerry is not beyond going to 105.3 management and making an offer they can’t refuse regarding that morning crew. He’s done it before in the Hansen episode.

I’m reminded of the Yankees 1970’s Billy Martin manager said “ one’s a liar the others convicted “ ….he was referring to Reggie Jackson his outfielder as the “ liar “ and owner George Steinbrenner as the “ convicted “ liar for campaign contributions conviction with Richard Nixon .

Martin was fired .
