Nick Foles Released **merged**

Nick Foles is considered a starter. (Not in my opinion) but he is considered one.

He won't be a reclamation project. He will start wherever he goes.

Unlikely. He was cut because he wasn't considered a starter. He'll likely be a backup someplace. KC, maybe? Andy Reid liked him in PHI, didn't he?

List all of the places he can realistically sign right now and start. There aren't too many places:

NYG - No, Eagles - No, Cowboys - No, Commanders - No

Lions - No, Packers - No, Vikings - No, Bears - No

Saints - No, Panthers - No, Falcons - No, Bucs - No

Seahawks - No, 49ers - Ehhhh, Rams - Duh, Cards - No

Pats - No, Dolphins - No, Jets - No, Bills - Maybe

Browns - Possibly, Bengals - No, Ravens - No, Steelers - No

Texans - No, Colts - No, Titans - No, Jags - No

Chiefs - No, Raiders - No, Broncos - No, Chargers - No

So by my count there are three teams he could possibly start - 49ers but Chip seems to want to make Kap work, Browns is an obvious choice as they are always looking for a QB but they did bring in RG3 and seem to want to give him a look and then the Bills, but they seem to like Taylor and there are reports they are talking contract extension with him.

So in reality, there might only be one real spot for him to start right away - Cleveland - and even that's a stretch.

Chip traded away Foles in Philly, so you can probably cross them off the list altogether. And no way he starts over Taylor in Buffalo, who had a pretty nice season last year.

As you said, Cleveland is about it. And he would have to sign as a backup there and wait for the inevitable RG3 flameout.

Totally. I was jus trying to be generous towards the ridiculous point that Foles is a starter on many teams.

I just got a feeling that worst case scenario is he goes somewhere and starts or supplants the starter after a few games.

LOL. That's the worst case scenario? What's the best case scenario? He gets signed by the Colts and they immediately bench Luck for Foles?

And list for us the teams where Foles would go and supplant the starter after a few games.

Best case scenario = Uh, he goes in as starter for Browns?
Was that trick question?

When did I say many teams?
I said he is considered a starter.

We all have our pet cats. I thought Foles had a real chance coming out. I just see a guy who's got way too many mechanical issues at this point and too many limitations to his overall game to put more time in developing him.

Moore, on the other hand, has pretty good mechanics. He's just really limited in the throws he can make. But for the most part, the big mistakes he was making last year had to do with not reading or not checking off the Safeties, which is something I think he's got a chance to improve over time. He'll never be a guy that gets you to the playoffs, but if we need somebody to handle the dump offs and to get it to Beasley on 3rd downs and keep the chains moving...somebody to read coverages right and get the ball to Dez when he's singled or to get the ball into a tight space or over a LB or to somebody who's not open yet but who will be shortly, those are all things he can do fairly well. He's just got to take care of the ball a lot better, and we have to live with the fact that there are routes he'll never be able to throw.

Thank you for that.
I'm not even a fan of Foles... I just this happening.

How can he be considered a starter when it's unlikely he'd start for 31 teams in the NFL and the 32nd might not even consider him a starter either?

He's not a starter and likely won't be considered a starter at this point in time. Most teams that sign him will either view him as reclamation project they roll the die on long term or a viable backup. But no one is signing him with the belief he's definitely their next starter and very soon.

He has started 35 of the 39 games he has played in this league.....that may be what gave them the idea

I know he came up as an Eagle but man you sure do dislike him.....I can respect that as I feel the same about KMoore as our QB2 and DMC as our RB1

OK, go through the teams. Who is signing him and making him a starter almost immediately?

Teams aren't dumb. They saw him struggle in 2014 and then completely fall apart in 2015 to the point he got benched by a team that really had nothing at QB.

I suspect most teams view him now as a backup or maybe a long term reclamation project if they can get him cheap and sit him behind a more established starter.

Ok.

So again, who is signing him to be their starter? You came up with Cleveland. Who apparently doesn't have any interest in him if you believe their media outlets.

So other than that, the only way Nick Foles starts a game is if he's signed as a backup and the starter gets hurt.

EDIT: I'll throw another team into the mix to appease you. Denver. They drafted Lynch who will sit behind Sanchez and learn. Foles could hypothetically beat out Sanchez for the starting job in Denver. But Kubiak came out yesterday and said they don't have interest in Foles.

I would have also took Sanchez as a backup if it were possible.

Yeah I said that already.

You can get off this merry go round at any time.

Foles will be starting somewhere this season. Per my best and worst case scenarrrrrrrrio. (Added accent for you) ;-)
