Nick Folk and kicking the ball out of bounds

That really needs to end next season. He did that about every other game and it was a huge blow. The only players I've ever seen commit the same mistake over and over again are Flozell Adams and Erik Williams. Unbelieveable. He even did it opening kickoff at Texas Stadium last year. Great way to start the season, chump.

i agree, thats one thing he needs to improve on. I think part of it was ST coach last year had him angle the kickoffs or something like that. Im positive that problem will be corrected this season though. I really like this guy, i hope hes our kicker for the next 15 plus years.

JMO but this has nothing to do with Folk. He was only trying to do what the coaches wanted. With a new special teams coach I'm hopeful he will be allowed to boom it as far as he can from now on.

Our ST were horribly coached. What was the opponent's average starting position, the 30-35? Terrible.

I would've read twice before I made that comment. I called him a chump for kicking it out of bounds.

a lot of it had to do with what Bruce Read wanted him to do with the directional kicking and stuff. I remember reading an article with Brad Johnson complaining about how the coach is not allowing him to just boom the ball but do all this directional crap

Bruce Read was so dumb. I bet more than half of his directional kickoffs ended up out of bounds. He should have just boomed the ball every time. The coverage sucked anyway no matter where the ball was placed so why did it matter.

Did not notice that. Hopefully that will change with a new coach. He can't do directional kickoffs.

It might not have been all Folk's fault, but he did kick the ball out of bounds way too much. Then again, our kick-off coverage teams sucked in general.

It may be an issue, but a "big issue"? That's a bit much. You're probably talking about 40-45 total yards in field position off the norm.

But we were the most penalized team in the league, with the second most yardage against... 952 yards. That means Folk's about 5% of our penalized yardage.

We just got rid of a WR who gets more yardage penalized against him for celebrating.
