Nick Folk and kicking the ball out of bounds

You've got to be kidding with this Folk mess. That guy is nails on FGs and pretty decent on kickoffs. I would like to think those kicks out of bounds had more to do with the direction of the venerable Bruce Read and less to do with Folk's actual ability. Exit one of the worst special team coaches in the history of the NFL and you have instant improvement in that phase of the game.

Again, this is about his kickoffs, but it may be 100% Bruce Read.

Yea, didn't you hear that he has been calling out Garrett about how he runs the offense, and doesn't give him more chances to make field goals which would make him a pro bowler. According to unnamed sources, Jerry is asking the concession stand vendors if he is a distraction.

But I would like to see him keep the ball inbound, I could see coaches yelling at him for kicking it out of bounds, but he wouldn't be in that situation if they weren't making him kick to the sidelines. The ball bounces in very funny ways, and I wouldn't want to take the risk of it going out of bounds. Just boot it has hard as you can, and send it to the endzone.

Of course it is. This guy is the most accurate kicker we've had in Dallas in years, and one of the best in the league IMO. What other reason is there for him not being able to keep the ball within a 53 yard wide window? Every now and then a shank happens, which answers for 1 or 2 out of bounds, but to go from 2 last season to 5 (really 4) this year?? It's obvious that it was directional kicking.
