Nick Harris coaching update

Dak had his best season the year Moore left.
Herbert took a step backwards under Moore and had a great regular season in the first year without him.
Hurts was considered an upper echelon QB before Moore, but this year he has struggled mightily and everyone sees his struggles as a passer in Moore’s system.

Barkley is carrying that offense, so yeah, let’s hire Kellen Moore, a hard nosed leader of men, to implement his offense where we have 1 WR and no RB and a far less talented OL.

What could go wrong? Make the Cowboys great again!
Don’t have to like the hire but the numbers don’t support your narrative. San Diego lost their best WRs and starting RB for long periods and Herbert was banged up as well. Hurts is a limited QB, the same issues have persisted across 3 OC’s. At times his play calling doesn’t make sense but as a coordinator he does a good job adapting to what his players do well.

During Moore's four-year tenure coordinating Dallas' offense, the Cowboys consistently ranked among the league's best in production.

Moore coached the offense to a league-high finish in total yards twice (2019 and 2021) and directed the NFL's top-scoring offense in 2021.

Furthermore, Dallas also ranked in the top 10 for scoring in both 2019 and 2022, as well as for passing offense in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

A major reason the Cowboys' offense was highly productive during Moore's tenure was the performance of Prescott, who had some of his best statistical seasons under his former coordinator.

During Moore's time, Prescott recorded 14,067 yards, ranking 10th for that period, along with 99 touchdowns, which was the seventh highest during the same stretch. He demonstrated consistent accuracy by completing 67.02% of his passes.

Over this time, Prescott averaged 287.1 yards per game, 11.6 yards per completion, and achieved a total quarterback rating of 71.9.

In 2019, under Moore's offensive direction, Prescott achieved a career-high 4,902 passing yards. This statistical success nearly continued into 2020, where he recorded 1,856 passing yards (371.2 yards per game) in the first five games before a season-ending ankle injury.

Despite this setback, he returned in 2021 to set career highs with 37 touchdown passes and 410 completions.

I’m just pointing out that the OL coach and running game coordinator was there before Kellen. They added Barkley.

Why couldn’t Moore do this with pollard or ekeler? If it’s him.
Ekler was hurt and Kellen helped Pollard have his best season. If he doesn’t break his leg, the Cowboys might have beaten San Francisco.

Other nuggets from this search from the article:

“There is still an overwhelming feeling that [Kellen] Moore is the leader, and some believe that [Robert] Saleh is closing in following a strong interview on Saturday.”

“This buzz has me believing that this will lead to Schottenheimer sticking around, but as offensive coordinator for whichever head coach does end up landing the job.”

Heaven forbid Kellen Moore! :facepalm::facepalm:

Even if Kellen was who they wanted, they feel confident they could get him it’s absolute malpractice to not at least have an Aaron Glenn in for an interview or other candidates even a kingsbury. Allow them the opportunity to hear their view of your program and how they would do things.

This is just a pitiful slap in the face to the fan base. It’s one thing to have a clear coach you want in mind but do an extensive search. None of these candidates are actual hot candidates with the exception of saleh. Leslie Frazier? Witten? Schottenhiemer?

KM makes no sense. We let him leave to take the same job in SD and hired Brian Schottenheimer to replace him. Now, we bring KM back and he leapfrogs over Schottenheimer.............. b/c KM had Saquan Barkley in his backfield ?
Only an idiot like Jerry would pull a stupid stunt like that. :banghead:

Moore got run out of town two years ago, then again from the Chargers after one year. Now he's overseeing an offense that is 28th in passing despite having Devonta Smith and AJ Brown. And Jerry is going to hire him because he knows him.

Only in Dallas.
In fairness he was out of a job in SD because the head coach got fired. Harbaugh was always going to go with his own OC.

So you don’t give Moore credit for Philly’s great offensive line and running back but blame him for Hurts. You guys are so afraid of the Cowboys bringing Kellen back huh.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Kellen Moore didn't build that OL, neither did he draft rb S. Barkley, so no I wouldn't credit him for either. And no I don't want him back here. We fired him once, why bring him back???

If it's between Moore and Saleh, it BETTER be Saleh.
:starspin:

- If it's Robert Salah,.. the primary concern would be the direction of the offense ..the new OC ? .... like it's been said, the Jones don't want a total new and do over
and learning curve for the Offense for Dak.

- Could they ask Schottenheir to return as OC and new play caller ? .... while adding new asst. coaches per RB and run game scheme ... new OL, WR, etc.

- Much still brewing with an eventual Jason Witten ..

He wasn’t fired. You have a right to not like him but he is probably the next head coach.

Wait. Is Jerry forcing Schottenheimer on Moore?

If true, that’s sooooooo Jerry.
Could we see ...?

HC - Robert Salah ?

OC - Brian Schottenhemeir ?

DC - Whoever Salah recommends ?

No matter who it is, why are they forcing the next HC to have Schottenheimer as OC? So dumb.

Jeanty can make him look good in Dallas.
Is our line good enough? Moore just looks like he wouldn’t inspire alpha behavior, doesn’t look like he’s capable of aggression

no I do t give credit for their run game to Moore, their GM collected the great line and signed Barkley….its more on them than some awesome scheme by Moore, and they have great WRs and Te but blah passing game…..nothing “impressive” about his O really beyond what the line and rb do, and that more player than scheme. Also, just look at Moore, he look like he would be an inspiring head coach lol? He doesn’t LOOK like a leader of men, someone who can inspire effort and discipline. Doesn’t look like an alpha.
