Witten is my favorite player, he always gives his maximum efforts, sometimes he cant get every yard, do you remember all the 1st down he gets because of his extended effort. and the TD catch in week 17 he extended his whole body. he's not perfect and cant get it every time, but sure is close to it. and is always there for us in clutch situations

You guys ever take a minute to think about what the dude has been through. The man did take punishing hits and he has the battered ribs to prove it. I still think hes pretty damn ginger near the midsection. Every time the man takes a hit he does not get pushed back, he just absorbs it because of his size and that can take its toll on the body. I think hes protecting himself, and I for one am glad he is. We need him for those hard first downs

I would rather have him out there blocking and making catches then getting further banged up just so he can get a couple yac.

For the past year, is it me or does he go down easy at the point of contact??? Great TE in all aspects, not questioning that at all, but.....TAke for example last night when he went down at the 1, Should he have scored, lowered the shoulder etc??? Just wondering...
actually my only gripe w/ Witten is that he's been flagged quite a bit this season... more than Flo I believe. At leastin this game, Dallas left points on the field b/c of those silly penalties. Good thing is that it's something he can work on and correct.

Agreed. But I also dont really want to see him get hurt either so I'm fine with him being a little soft taking hits.

The thing I'm nitpicking with is his penalties. I would bet he leads the team in presnap penalties this year.

Like I said...nitpicking.

There is just no pleasing people. Tell you what, lets get you on the field, in the armor they wear with guys pulling on your every muscle to stop you for their paycheck sake and see how many yards you rack up and injuries you take and STILL trying to do the best you can for your team in the smart way you know how KNOWING every injury you take hurts the team. No pressure right there.

Get over it. the guy puts more into charities and being a good human people than MOST people ever do, than he goes out and is the best damn TE that this franchise is watching before its very eyes and YOU want to cry about his EFFORT!, Sitting in a chair in front of a computer has gotten so darn hard now a days.

Some people need to stop getting so emotional. I love Witten to death and I think he is BY FAR the best tight end the Cowboys have ever had. Definitely a top 5 (if not higher) TE in the game right now.

However, he does have a tendency to try his slow-down-then-backwards-juke-stiff-arm-shove move. You guys know what move I'm talking about. For such a huge guy, he could have easily put his shoulder down (or at least continued running at full speed) towards the goal line and scored. There would have been no stopping him.

At times, he can be great after the catch (see Eagles or Washington game against Landry), but he also makes some questionable decisions with the ball. Truth.
