No Blocking, No Pass Game

I am not defending Dak. But to suggest the harassment he took had nothing to do with his results is just a Johnny One Note sort of thing. You focus on him and not the line play or the open or not receivers.

This offense is terrible. Dak is some of that problem.

But not the entire problem.

Oline is the big problem which makes our other issues stand out glaringly

Wrong

For those of us who actually watched the game and don’t have our head in the Daksand. It was more than obvious that when given time

A. He does not lead his WR well at all often throwing behind them
B. Holds the ball too long, this creaing Pressure on himself
C. Moves into pressure , rather than stepping away leading to balls thrown away
D. Does not anticipate the WR break. Thus waiting for the guy to be “wide open”

Cmon man

How can you say he’s holding the ball too long when he’s getting hit almost immediately?

Dak’s accuracy is fine when he has time to throw, just like most of the quarterbacks in this league.

Why do we have a 260 pound tackle starting at guard?

Williams should be a swing tackle and not taking on nose tackles. If they're going to committ to him being a guard then they have to have him pulling more instead of trying to turn him into a mauler.

Dak is pretty terrible. That said his receivers didn't help by letting passes pop out to defenders and stepping out of bounds before easy receptions and dropping equally easy receptions. There was plenty of suck for everyone on the offense to share in.

Dak took a lot of hits b/c he holds the ball too long. Go re-watch. Dak has plenty of time to look over the field. He's just indecisive. Dak's inability to conduct a passing attack is what hamstrung the offense last year and its the same story this year. The guy has failed to pass for 200 yards in 8 of his last 10 games. Quit blaming the OL.
The line looked like garbage and receivers need some distance even if not wide open they can not get any separation

Everyone sucks at this point.

Dak only throws to wide open targets. This way, his mechanics doesn’t need to be on point and all he needs to do is throw it into the vicinity. If thats the meaning of Dak Friendly then we can just end the conversation.

Dak has big mechanic and accuracy issues. We haven’t had a thread about his pin point accuracy in a long time!

We also got pass happy way too soon. The OL is supposed to be the strength of this team, there is too much money and draft capital for this OL to being functioning the way it has.

When you see "separation" in the NFL, its usually the result of a busted coverage. In the NFL, you get 3.5 seconds to find a WR and they aren't going to be running free unless someone makes a mistake.

Norv Turner sat Aikman down his rookie year and had to teach what "NFL open" looks like. Unfortunately for Dak, he doesn't have Aikman's arm talent or sense of timing. The OL isn't the problem. The 3 big problems on offense are play calling, lack of talent at WR and TE, and a mediocre QB.

The OL is not playing great but there are QBs around the league making plays behind similar OLs.

That's correct. Good call. I like the objectivity. +1 from me.

And similar WR's?

No two things are a.like in this league. No two situations. No two coaching staff's.

There is only one Garrett - The Scarlet Clapper, and that was not a compliment.

impatient? Weve been waiting 23 years for a Super Bowl. The fact that we are still here proves we are one of the most PATIENT fan bases in the NFL.

With all the belly aching, and I am one of the biggest, and since we fans have zero say in how this plays out, I'd suggest this fan base is impatient. Williams has played three NFL games that matter. You put pepper on your steak for seasoning. Why would this be different?

I don’t want to get personal here, but let’s just agree that’s our fan base is rather uneducated about football. While our 285lb tight end (Conner Williams) continues to play guard, defensive tackles dance in the backfield on every play.

I don’t care if we have Romo, Aaron Rodgers or Johnny Unitas, no one is doing anything if the quarterback can’t set his feat.

Unfortunately fans watch QB throw bad balls under constant duress and they believe it’s all his fault. Oh well.

BTW - no defense of Dak here, he’s an average quarterback who can win you games when he is protected. But to anyone who knows football, the problem here is quite obviously the offensive line.

The offensive line play has been putrid. I haven't analyzed why, but as a unit they are horrendous. Surprisingly so.

Don’t get me wrong I am not just trying to blame Dak only.

This franchise is going nowhere with Garrett running it. But the reality is Dak is a big issue too. He had 58 yards passing with 10-12 minute to go in the game. That’s bad Quaterbacking even if you are getting average OL play.

The reality very well may be we need a new coach and new QB this offseason .
