I dont necessarily think were a top 2 roster this year either but the stars are aligning. Philly whom i believe is constructed better is imploding and i love it. Detroit has a darn good roster as well. Theres no doubt san fran is the best in the NFC but anything can happen thats why you play the games.

We do play better at home so Im grateful to have a couple of games there hopefully either way ill enjoy regardless of results
I would have to disagree. In the nfc I believe we definitely are a top 2 team. I don’t think Philly or detroits roster is as good as ours. At home we should be able to handle anybody in the nfc until we reach SF in the conference champ game

They will not be favored against the 49ers
Reasonable ceiling is a loss in the NFCCG.
Which Is a 28 season high.
And should be considered a successful season.
Why does everyone want to concede to SF. We are a better team than we were then. And SF is the same team, maybe even less.

Yeah that's what I've been saying since the Cardinals beat the Eagles. The Cowboys were put on a path that anything less than a NFCCG appearance is unacceptable.

This is a season of historic home dominance and the only thing standing in their way of the NFCCG is two home games against underdog opponents.

It would be one of the biggest disappointments of the Jerry era if they don't get this done.

And who knows? Maybe the Rams can beat the Lions and go to San Francisco and beat the 49ers. If that's the case, swallow hard, because your Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl.
Risen this is a good football take.
I would love if you posted more serious post like this.

This is the year they just have to do it. Might not get a better chance the next couple of years.

Two possible home games against very doable opponents.

Packers and TB/Eagles

Packers and TB lucked into the playoffs with a basically .500 record. Neither played great football that scares someone.

Eagles are probably the worst team in the playoffs right now and in self-destruct mode.

Cowboys have the longest home winning streak ever and are a different animal at AT&T.

We are likely healthy besides Gilmore and the guys that are out for a long time.

Zack Martin and Tyler Smith will be playing, atleast Martin. Bass has looked more than good so im not worried about Tyler Smith playing or not.

Dak and CD are clicking on an cylinders. Even Pollard looks to regain form.

Defense and ST is the only thing that has questionmarks, but there is no excuse this year to not get the monkey off our backs and reach the NFCG after almost 3 decades.
you mean packers and Lions/Rams. the winner of TB/Eagles plays SF.

Lock? Go check out Lamar's playoff numbers.
same said about Dak's...thing is with both QB's and both teams this year there is 100% something different about both of them. Wouldn't it be something if Green Bay played Houston? lolol

First of all do not dump your expectations on the team there is excuses it's called the other side has players that can play so yeah they're an NFL teams we gotta meet this is no cake walk it's not like we're playing Minnesota and the giants or the 49ers went out their quarterbacks I mean yeah that would have been Eagles but we have to play some real teams fully loaded fully healthy it is gonna be a tough rd regardless....y path into the NFC championship game..

So again it's one game at a time it's a week to week league and we need to stop with the nonsense and the expectations just enjoy the ride it could be over real soon with a very long offseason..

thats the beauty of these forum we dont all think alike that would kind of suck. i think our roster is top 3 but I wouldnt want to go through each area to outline where i think we are not as good as the other teams. I would say we are definately playing the 2nd best in NFC at the moment and thats all that matters

I worry about our inability to run and stop the run. Hopefully we can stay healthy throughout and Dak continues to play well at home

Going by their poor track record.
They don't seem to match up well against their physical style.
Would LOVE to be wrong.
We shall see.

Of course the other side of this is this is setting up perfectly to be the same old Cowboys. Be completely dominant at home, earn a path that just requires you to win at home and then fail.

Like 2007. Sweep the Giants on your way to the 1 seed then lose to the Giants in the divisional round.

The first game against Green Bay, Dallas needs to control their running game.

This is still where the Cowboys need to get the first game changing play on the table...and then retain focus.

Establish momentum and then rhythm takes the show forward.
I don't think this team's gonna forget having a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter in Green Bay and blew that game in overtime because of two things their ability to have two running backs that can run which is our Achilles heel and a young quarterback that can live off play action passes... I mean I don't know how good this team is that we're about to play it's missing Aaron Rodgers is a difference between that game last year however this is the type of game the Cowboys defense struggles with they have a two headed monster at running back and a quarterback that could Chuck it it's play action.....

Anybody know what their offensive line looks like their defensive line how is their defense I mean I know the Chicago Bears have a pretty good defense but the fact they only scored 17 at home in a big game yesterday at least bodes well for the Cowboys but it is a division game so you never really could judge those..

I think it's pre-ordained by the NFL.
Making sure the Cowboys weren't embarrassed by Detroit after the Bills and Dolphins seemed to be important to the NFL.
And they kept plenty of drama saved for week 18 with the way certain teams got wins that kept the playoff race alive. The Dolphins and Bills game was a big ticket, as was the Ravens/Steelers. Who would’ve guessed the Steelers would put it all together and beat the Ravens to get into the playoffs after the way they've played all season?
The NFL has this thing working like a clock.
The Steelers swept the Ravens this year, and they've got a few quality wins, so it's not a fluke they're in the playoffs.

their Running game is similar to ours. in fact we have 15 more yards in the season than they do. but yes, agreed we need to control the run game. we have done better against teams that don't have a super star WR who can kill us with big play after big play. Packers don't have that and our DB depth (if Gilmore is healthy and back) matches their WR depth (as they tend to spread the ball around). the key for the game is to pressure the QB, who is in his first playoff game away. they struggled against their non-division foes away from home. they have been in a lot of close games except the Minn. game where nick mullens started for them and Vikings struggled offensively.

not an opponent to take lightly, but better match up for us than the Rams

So you think Rams will win in Detroit? Because if Detroit wins at home we are playing them and NOT Philly/Tampa.

I do. I think we end up playing the Eagles in the divisional round and then off to San Francisco.

Exactly like 1992.

I'm just saying.
ok, if that happens, then I am good with that. let rams go to SF. they are a tougher match up for them anyway. they have played them close.

I rather play philly, but I don't think Philly makes it out of Tampa. Tampa is sneaky good. so it will be a tougher match up.
