Read above. Last post on page 4Yeah, but if we tag him first, we can trade him to a WR needy contender for 2nd or better, since he'll likely be a pro bowler this year.

I don’t know. Dallas is almost 80 million over the cap now and franchise tagging him will be a direct 30 million hit. I’m sure Dallas can find a way to resign him but I doubt they can franchise him.For you cap experts, is there even a realistic shot at tagging Pickens? Seems like WR, other than QB, would have the biggest OMG contracts for a franchise player.
You gotta make the most of your cheap players.Let's roll with Flournoy @ #2 in 2026. He has shown enough to warrant the promotion.
Depends what we think we can get for him. Can’t trade him. He has no contract
You do understand once the team franchises him Pickens and his agent control any trade. The player simply doesn’t sign the tag until a trade of his liking is arranged along with a contract with that team agreed upon. If that is not worked out, and it’s July 16, Pickens has no choice but to sign the tag and play for the Cowboys. But after July 15 he may not be traded and he plays for Dallas and Dallas takes the $28 million cap hit. It’s a risky maneuver and not one that I think Jerry wants to expose the team to.Depends what we think we can get for him.
Franchise and trade.
He's hurt his value the last couple of weeks so I don't know if that is a money making proposition, but a few weeks ago it was. Maybe he'll rebound to finish the year.
Tag and trade. Can’t trade him. He has no contract
You mean like Mahomes in KC???I said it before and I'll say it again. Daks best chance at success is a top flight defense. Look at Seattle. Darnold is basically Dak give or take a few spots. He actually has a shot at a deep playoff run with jsn and Rasheed Shahid. That's what dak needs.
The following year at the end of the 3rd, so basically equivalent to a high 5th round pick. The would get a comp 3rd for Pickens if he walks.
What if Josh Allen or Joe Burrow were the Cowboys' quarterback?
Bleep offNot his fault. He's a stud #1. But Dak can't have 2 of them on the team because he can't take advantage of both skill sets often enough.
Dude, I don't need to read that. I was talking about tag n' trade scenarios, not keeping him 2 yearsRead above. Last post on page 4
Ever here about restructuring deals? LOLNot gonna happen. Teams won’t do that because they know Dallas is 79 million over the cap and can’t fit another straight 30 million dollar hit
If two or more teams are interested and there will be, they can do it no problem. Not gonna happen. Teams won’t do that because they know Dallas is 79 million over the cap and can’t fit another straight 30 million dollar hit
?Bleep off
Horrible take. Not his fault. He's a stud #1. But Dak can't have 2 of them on the team because he can't take advantage of both skill sets often enough.
The $ commitment went to Cee Dee.
Pickens with Lamb on the field is apparently invisible, & what happened vs Detroit is a red flag.
We should look to trade GP3 and recoup a pick.

We need to prioritize this atrocious Defense if we are going to be a quality football team. A 2nd stud WR isn't the answer.
I agree with your post. But i've never understood the term "stay healthy". Football is built on violence. Large men well over three hundred pounds ramming into each other multiple times per game. Not to mention high impact collisions downfield.Lol. Fans here are so fickle. GP is a huge asset to the team and has been balling out all year. He needs to play in Dallas next year. Who knows beyond that. One thing is for sure: Fluornoy having two decent games doesn’t mean he’s enough of an impact player to take Pickens’ spot. That’s delusional.
I guess it’s too much to ask for our OL to stay healthy.
Our defense….something has to be done. I don’t buy that it’s totally a coaching issue. It’s a personnel issue as well. Sure hope McClay works some magic for next year.
This year’s team was never expected to contend for a deep playoff run, or to even make the playoffs for that matter. The O/U for games won was 7.5 to start the season. Funny how the oddsmakers are tuned into the pulse of the league.
The draft is not going to fix this defense.I think you have to sign him. Draft another OL and then all defense from there. Just hope your idiot GM can make some decent personnel decisions that brings your defense up to average.
