Also Packers is a good warm up for the Falcons, because their offense is even more scary. So might as well get used to facing shootout QBs and learn how to deal with it. We will need a pass rush without blitzing. Then we will need to probably deal with Brady and the Patriots so next 2 games should be good practice.

This team is different than any we've had in the post-Aikman era.

There is a confidence about us, and who would have thought, it's mostly thanks to two rookies.

Zeke is at his best on the biggest stage. And we are going to ride him all game long. Defense just needs to hold up
It's going to be Zeke's coming out party. 24-165 game coming.

Last time we played the Pack didn't have Clay Matthews either. All I was hoping for today was these two teams to beat each other up bit while we sat in the hot tub. We simply cannot give Aaron Rodgers all day to throw the freakin' ball like the Giants did today. It seemed like the NY pass rush was just giving up at times. If we can execute our game, which I am confident we will, we beat them. Plus, we owe them a HUGE *****-slap after that 2014 playoff game in GB were there was that bogus non-catch call against Dez. I'm still pissed about that.

Yes, the playoffs are a new season, and any team can defeat any other team, and I'm hearing lots of praise for Aaron Rodgers, but ...

Last meeting on Oct 16, we won 30-16 despite the following:
  • At Lambeau field
  • Rodgers went 31-42 for almost 300 yards (how much better can he play)
  • Had Lacy running the ball 17 times for 65 yards and Montgomery...not much now
  • Had all his receivers healthy, including Cobb and Nelson
  • Completed passes to 9 different players
  • Dak only went 18-27 with an INT and lost a fumble
  • Our rookies were still slightly green on Oct 16
  • Only sacked Rodgers once at line of scrimmage, no loss.
How did we win?
  • Our defense gave up only one TD, playing tough in the red zone as they have all season.
  • Zeke ran 28 times for 158 yards, yet time of possession was still with GB slightly
  • Dak hit three TD passes
Extras?
  • We won that game without DLaw, without Mayowa, with almost nothing from Collins
  • Dez Bryant didn't even play
Despite Rodgers, most other things, including rookie experience, home field, healthy players, and a much improved D-line fall in our favor after already beating them at home when they played well.

There are no guarantees, but I like our chances, and I'm sure our players have to feel confident.
My biggest fear is a lifetime of the Cowboys breaking down on the biggest stage. That chapter ends on Sunday with a win at home.

We can't stop him in his current configuration- but, we can outscore him if Jason lets us.

I've never seen the fact that Sturm grew up as a Packer fan and still is a Packer fan affect his writing about the Cowboys.

He is a consummate professional and my favorite journalist who covers the Cowboys.

Oh yeah, he is. Wasn't saying that...but it has to be tough!!

I didn't know Sturm was a Packers fan. Isn't Mickey also a Packers fan?

I don't even want to know who Rowdy roots for...

Remember, I never said in OP that we were going to dominate, etc. Anyone can beat anyone at this point, and we could lose to GB. I merely pointed out that Rodgers had an excellent game against us at Lambeau; we were short handed on both sides of the ball, and we still won convincingly, and it wasn't all about the 4 turnovers as we turned it over twice ourselves. The difference in the game was similar to our success all season. Our defense forces lots of FGs, and our offense scores lots of TDs in the red zone.

There is no guaranteed win in the NFL, certainly not in the second round of the playoffs, but we have no reason to fear. Worst case for us is a good game. I think Zeke and Dez have big games.

I'd like to see the Packers win a game against a good offense. Can't recall that they have to this point. Plus the game will be in Dallas.
This is really an excellent point.
Packers are 11-6 (reg season + wild-card).
Against teams in the top 15 offenses (by points/gm), they were 0-5.
All 11 victories they've had (and one loss) came against teams with mediocre or below offenses.

Oh yeah he is. His parents still live there. Farve is his favorite of all time.

So after Garrett has basically rebuilt this team since 2012 from one of the oldest teams in the league to one of the youngest. Sitting at 13 -3 and primed for a Superbowl run. RKG's across the board and the arrow pointing upward for the foreseeable future.

What can I possibly explain to you that you don't get? Or should I say didn't get?

So you want to duct tape him in the locker room? It's just lame. sorry.

It's going to be a close game. I don't think one team is that much better than the other.

Advantages:
QB: GB
WR: Dallas
TE: Tie ( Cook is good. Witten is up in age).
RB: Dallas
Coaching: Close...I'll say GB
OL: Dallas
Rushers: GB due to Matthews.

that's incorrect, Clay Matthews was a full participant in the last game

No, it's more of a game day coaching philosophy. I'm hoping he goes all out, the Giants settled for field goals with a much better defense than we have and got owned in the end due to their lack of early courage. I hope we are courageous early on, not a Jason strong suit.

Matthews played but he was such a non factor that it's easy to think he didn't suit up.

I don't expect him to play a factor this week either. He'll be mauled by o line when he tries to play up
